A Herd of Gazelles

All Harrisburg Backblasts

June 10th, 2020 By Wexler

As YHC was pulling into the parking lot this morning,  my phone rang at 5:57 am…’Turf toe here….I am surrounded by Burners….where do you guys meet to run?”   Has it been that long Turf Toe?

As I turned the corner, I understood what he was talking about and cringed when I saw that the Burners numbers had doubled in size and had taken over both sides of street.  Thankfully,  I soon realized that the large group in front of Percent wasn’t the next Burn class waiting, oh no, it was 17, yeah you read that right, 17 of Harrisburg’s speediest out for a morning stroll.  15 for a muggy run down Shamrock, 2 for a strut around the ‘Burg.

The Route apparently was a crowd favorite as they cheered when I told them we were hitting up Shamrock.   And what a crowd it was.  We looked like a herd of Gazelles migrating through the Town center and across 49.   We had the speedsters, we had the OG’s, we had FNG’s, guys who were pushing their pace, and guys who were just out enjoying the run.  We had 5 decades of age groups and a lot of picking up the six.  Great support and great conversation as always (other than going up the hills).

Way to push it out there everyone!  Always great to have so many out there for a run.

Welcome out Jeff and Cam!  Hope you come back out soon!

Nice to have Thickburger out as well even if he had no interest in running.  I still think you could have snuck into the Burn Yoga class.

Tclaps to @Minnow and @Strapless for getting in the pre run!

This morning’s run showcased so much of what F3 means to me. Thank you for allowing me to lead, pushing me, and for all your support and encouragement!
