A Hill of a Good Time
All Harrisburg BackblastsJune 6th, 2020
15 men came out in this June humidity to get a little better than they were yesterday. A good crowd this morning. It didn’t take long for the mumblechatter to start. @Kojak didn’t waste any time in the warm up to get things started. YHCs concentration could not be broken though.
Farmer’s only spokesman, aka @Sundial, came back for a 2nd week in a row for the free coffee. @Escalade skipped out on their 2nd date so YHC had to pick up the tab.
@Tumbler was also there for a 2nd week in a row. He’s getting back in shape for the Extinction race. There’s a side bet between (not really, but should be) him, @Gamma, and @Starsky as to who will last the longest. It’s something like “who can make it until beer opens?”
@Starsky is boycotting my workouts after I called him out for not Qing and then didn’t show up when he did. Or he’s at the Beach sipping mojitos. One of those is probably true.
@Solocup must have been at home binge watching Goldberg’s with Sam, teaching him the importance of a Type-A personality.
It was good to have FNG, Ethan, out with us this morning. I’m sure his wife and newborn are going to be so impressed with how much stronger he got in just one day.
The plan today consisted of some hill repeats. We took our time getting there because an hour of just that would be pretty boring. It went like this.
Warm Up
SSH x 20, IST x 20, Windmill x 13, Mountain climber x 20, Circle mericans up to 5
The Thang
Mosey up to the driving school parking lot
Find your own line
1 merican, Plank walk to the right, 2 mericans, plank walk back, 3 mericans. Repeato up to 7
Mosey to Henderson Circle
Once instructions were converted to English, it went like this
Partner Up Catch me if you can
P1 does 5 mericans while P2 jogs slowly, when P1 “sprints” to catch up they switch/swatch/swap and P2 does 5 mericans while P1 jogs slowly
At the bottom of the circle exercises change to 10 mountain climbers for P1 while P2 does quadraphelia up the hill
Mosey to Church parking lot
Welsh Dragon up to 7
1 step each leg bear crawl, 1 plank jack, 1 merican – all exercises increase by 1 without stopping to 7
Mosey to the picnic tables near the old post office
50 Declines, 50 Dips, run the hill to School road and back
Supposed to be 2 rounds of that, but 100 decline mericans is a little/lot ambitious. It turned into inclines in the 2nd round, unless you’re @Clueless and didn’t hear the audible and did declines both rounds. #ouch
@Kojak and @HongKongPhooey didn’t run all the way up to School run so their official winning times in this event have been cancelled. You should have known what the Q meant.
50 squats & 50 LBCs at the bottom of the hill for good measure
Mosey back to base
Mary
LBCs x 20
Reverse crunch x 20
Pretzel Crunch x 15 each side
40 second elbow plank, not using the gloves on your elbows, if you’re a real man like YHC and @Tumbler
Moleskin
Strong work this morning guys. Humidity made it extra brutal.
@Mullett is improving each week. His comment “you must be tired today” or something like that was extra motivational so I started walking. Strong work today brother!
We decided at coffeeteria that @Wexler’s face would be on our shirt for Extinction race. As long as he gets a haircut and a shirt that spells sausage correctly.
T-claps to @HKP and @Kojak for setting the pace today, as usual. Try to keep up with them and you’ll definitely get faster.
Soon to be renamed Green Eggs also doing great out there. Keep coming back and you too can be faster than @Wexler.
