Gone in 60 seconds ish

All Harrisburg Backblasts

May 27th, 2020 By FlipPhone

13 men decided today was the day to get faster.  Mission accomplished.  It was good to see a few faces I haven’t seen in a while.

After some confusion by blocked roads, we gathered over at Percent Tap House.  Burn boot camp got wise to our prime location and took it over today.  We wouldn’t be there for long so we let it slide.  We learned how to share in kindergarten.  Wednesdays going forward for a little while will be 15 steps across the road at Percent Tap House.

The plan today was for a 1 mile warm-up, then various length of speed runs around the quarter mile track by the pool.

When the fast guys finish, run back for the six, then we catch our breath for 30 seconds and stretch for 60 seconds.  That was the plan.  It didn’t go like that.

20 seconds into the stretch YHC realized nobody was actually stretching, so they must be ready to run!  Ok, let’s go!  Then there were quick complaints about a broken watch, 60 seconds went too fast.  Can’t make everyone happy.  That was lesson two in kindergarten after share the playground with Burn boot camp.

We did something like this:

1 mile warm up

400

800 x 2

1200 x 2

400

Mosey back to base

Moleskin

Shorter distance today, but still plenty of effort.  Great work out there today guys!

Great to see @Riptide back out.  Get a haircut man. Clippers are cheap.  Once you save the $30, you may not go back.

@Exit54 was pushing @Espresso and keeping him on his heels.  One round went to him, but if you call out “I’m not racing this one” it won’t count, right?

@Espresso let @Exit54 win a round, but wouldn’t let me win one. The blame on that definitely goes to @Tbone.  He’s an instigator and couldn’t let me have a victory to build some self esteem.  I’ll never be a winner.

@TarTar was out there even with an injury getting some walking in.  Nice work brother!  Hope you heal up quickly.  What was your excuse for missing?  Your wife’s birthday “may” be a valid excuse.

@Pocahantas may or may not have passed me on the last 400.  He’s faster than he looks.  That’s a valid excuse for losing.  Great push out there today brother.
