Rolling Stoned for 5 years
All BackBlasts BackblastsOctober 28th, 2019
Time flies when you’re having fun. 6 loyal pax arrived for only a slightly planned, mostly plagarized workout from our first Master Q @Lawdawg.
Dislcaimer
I’m not a professional, but you’d think after 5 years…
Warm-a-rama
Five laps around the CB lot, incorporating Karayoke (not Kuechley’s on the day after a 51-13 thrashing), high knees and toy soldiers. That was almost the last reference to 5, but more on that in a bit.
- SSH x20
- Windmill x10
- IST x10
- Merkins x10
- Mountain climbers x15
Arm circles, frontwards and backwards.
THe Thang
Workout was modeled after the workout on 10/27/14 from QIC Law Dawg. That was back when BellBuster was just a twinkle in our Master Q’s eye, and we just used rocks for weight at the original stomping grounds up at Harris Road Middle School. A few stations with a runner as a timer.
The 4 stations setup this morning varied by weight:
- Heavy (Chest press – Squat – KB Swings)
- Medium I (Curl – LBCs – Overhead press)
- Medium II (Lawn Mower – Snatch – Calf raises)
- Light (Git up – upright row – tri extension)
Chachi and Ty Webb paired up and the 6th pax was a timer, running around the old bank. We cycled through the first set of heavy/medium/light stations when @heatstroke noticed the absence of the shovel flag.
YHC was fully concentrated on getting out 2x as many bells as we needed, that shovel flag was unceremoniously left in my trunk. Flag was dutifully, but not firmly, planted. Round 2 through the stations was capped by the flag slowly making its way to the horizontal position, as YHC was starting his timer run, and if I had been about 3 steps faster, I could have caught it preventing it from hitting the turf. But, was not in the cards, and Heatstroke rightfully called a 5 burpee penalty. We can just be glad it wasn’t my 20th anniversary – and next time I won’t be as conscious of the perfectly manicured turf at CB!
Nonetheless we proceeded through the rest of the stations uneventfully and circled back around to the first when time was called and Mary began, bell-less.
Mary
- Pretzel crunch x10
- Crunchy Frog x20
Seems like we did one more, but escapes me at the moment.
Prayer Requests
Heatstroke’s father cancer now spread to his skin, so more treatments coming.

Thanks to pax for posting this morning. Thanks for F3, for providing the opportunity to grow in leadership, manly virtue and get in better shape while we’re at it. The five years have gone fast, and I’m very grateful that my body is cooperating and I’m still able to get out a couple of days a week and be with my F3 brothers. I was never a morning person, but I now cherish those early mornings, even when not posting, as a time to get mentally and spiritually ready for the day. Not unlike getting ready for Qing an F3 workout For a time, I wasn’t sure what the F3 appeal really was, until reading Freed to Lead by OBT and Dredd. If you’ve been posting and haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. Its a quick read too, well worth the time. Iron sharpens iron is very true.
This is a great AO and while some of the pax have come and gone, the personality of the AO seems to remain constant, thanks to the men who join in. TClaps to Pox, who’s relentless pursuit, twice, kept me thinking that I should try this thing some time, and one day, well two, I was inspired to go do it. TClaps also to Founding Master Q Lawdawg, and line of master Qs @Sugar, @Heatstroke and @JimmyBuffet (sound off if I missed somebody), for keeping the AO ordered and prosperous. Male community leadership in action.
See you in the gloom!
AYE!

Congrats on the 5 years Schnitzel! I suppose we can recognize Whatley as being a RS MQ…
Ah yes, good call. Adding to the day’s festivities was catching up with CEO CB himself @Sparknut. Good chatting with you, sir. Honorable mention to @MC as we descended into the ranks of respect about the same time, although my pace was a bit more accelerated than his!
