16 loyal sports fans showed up to commemorate the program defining drive that almost was.

WARM UP

Mosey to the Bum Wash

SSH x20 ic

Soap Droppers x10 ic

Arm Circles forward and back

Mosey to the Keenan Memorial Parking Deck for…

THE THANG

Start at the bottom of the deck and methodically drive up the stairs to the top to score a TD, stopping at each deck to move the chains with pain. In honor of Mack’s balls of steel, at each level you run the option and either keep it or pitch to the alternate exercise.

  1. Keep: Merkins x20 OR Pitch: Freddy Mercs x20
  2. Keep: Dry Docs x20 OR Pitch: KGB’s x20
  3. Keep: Squats x20 OR Pitch: LBC’s x20
  4. Keep: WW2’s x20 OR Pitch: Mt. Climbers x20
  5. Keep: Bear Crawl OR Pitch: Broad Jump to the goal line

At the end of your epic program defining drive, go for 2 burpees and then mosey down the deck the long way discussing how Gameday was almost there for a matchup between 2 pretty much 4-0 teams, and then like decades of Tar Heel football on the verge of greatness…….Repeato the same ol’ same ol’ (until Mary is called).

MARY

“lès Broga”: That’s French for “some stretching”

PRAYERS

None requested, prompting me to make up my own. Mistakes were made. Everyone knows I will read anything that’s on the teleprompter. I’m Ron Burgendy?

MOLESKIN

As we enter the 11th week of July here in NC…Its Fall Y’all! That’s right, the season where Salt Life stickers are replaced by shiplap signs in the dining room that say “Gather” in ridiculous handwriting. That season where Look Me Up trades his Truly in for a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. That season where my wife wants to eat “comfort foods” all weekend, whatever that means. And what a beautiful autumnal morning it was today – A crisp 69 degrees (nice), but nobody noticed due to the 112% humidity.

The beatdown was full of symbologyism intended to really fire up the PAX and get the chatter going. Surprisingly little reaction. Chatter was minimal but there was a group of UNC fans that stayed together whispering quietly amongst themselves, resolute in not giving me the satisfaction no doubt. Most likely talking about basketball season already. I often forget that people around here live for basketball and are perfectly content to just bend the knee in football.  I don’t understand you, but I still accept you. None the less, it was a perfectly crafted workout with no detail overlooked.

Coffee was excellent. The long legs of the law had PAX contemplating crimes that were arrestable, but could be pled down in court by El Abagado. 7 out of 8 present were one at a time bested by a simple glass door like a bunch of dumb sparrows. Pathetic. Only Popeye solved the puzzle, proving once again why I trust him to manage my fortune.

Thanks for allowing me to lead, and more importantly thanks for allowing me to follow. This is a great organization to be a part of, and this particular group is awesome. While I deeply believe in sportsmanship over trash talking, I thought this would make the workout a little more fun today.  I coached football for 7 years before my wife fired me, and I am a true believer in the lessons taught by the game and that the game is a metaphor for life. These same lessons taught to us when we were young enough to play are still taught to us through F3. Teamwork, discipline, fortitude, preparation, camaraderie, and accountability are all important skills taught by the game. But the most important lesson comes in overcoming adversity. Every day we each have to overcome some level of adversity. Whether it is something small or something big you have to attack it the same way and refuse to give up. It is a conscious and difficult choice, but a choice you have to make. You won’t win every battle but you have to fight every battle. There is no shame in coming up 1 play short, the only shame is in quitting. These are common lessons we’ve all heard but we all need to be reminded of daily. If you can play the game that way you’ll live your life that way, and if you live your life that way you’ll inspire someone else to do the same. That’s the kind of stuff that changes the world. Go Tigers!

Aye!
