The Boys are back in town!
All Harrisburg BackblastsSeptember 25th, 2019
8 of Harrisburg’s most famous came back fully recovered from their time off after BRR for a nice cool stroll around town.
YHC pulled in right at ‘Wexler Time’ (aka 5:03) for a prerun with @Riptide and @Minnow. About 3 minutes into the run, I almost stepped on a dead squirrel! I was prepared this time after my experience with the copperhead and gracefully pirouetted over said squirrel.
After a quick ‘manly’ warning to my colleagues, we were all able to avoid the victim while we started to bounce around ideas on who the animal serial killer in Rocky River Crossing is.
Could it be the Bear? Our pace started to quicken….
Next thing you know, Joe points out that we are almost two miles out and had about 12 minutes to hoof it back to the Town Center to Q Road Warrior. Turbo jets activated!
I set numerous PR’s on my way back to the Town Center including having @Evite say, ‘why are you running so fast?’
Could it be the Bear?
I finally pull up to 4 Pax waiting on me. Gasping for air, I ask the time. As if it couldn’t get any worse, out of the shadows steps the Master Q, Flip Phone, with what I can only describe as a look of sheer disappointment on his face as he spits out ‘5:32.’ That one is going to hurt for a while….
I could barely bring myself to look him in the eye as I suggest to the Pax we all take a moment to stretch out so no one gets hurt. Aka let me catch my breath from that 6:30/mile sprint I just ran.
And we were off! Right about now we noticed that @Cowpens was the only one there for the stretch so we dragged him out with us.
We ran down Roberta, We ran up 49 trying to cross, we finally crossed and ran back down 49 and behind Lowes. We decided we were having more fun on the other side of 49 so we crossed back!
Finally, spending our time doing repeats up and down Patricia before heading back home to Town Center. Thankfully while we were gone, @DickTracy and his guard dog circled Burn to keep the ladies safe.
No Bears were ever found…thankfully
It was a great cool morning for a run and great to have so many regulars back out for Road Warrior! Most impressive was @Cowpens. He had no intention of running this morning and jumped right in without once thinking of quitting or heading back home. Well, maybe he thought it but we were none the wiser. Way to give 110% effort brother!
Thank you for allowing me to lead, pushing me, and for all your support and encouragement!
