Woke up at 4:30 to the sound of pouring rain. I thought for sure my V Q at the Dawghouse would be a rain drenched slop fest. BUT… the winkie was laminated. There was no deviating from the map to a cushy workout under the portico. If rain was coming… we’d get wet.

However, By 5:10 when I rolled out the door there was only a light mist. And when I rolled into the parking lot at 5:25 even the mist had lifted.

Excited that the path forward looked to be semi-dry, I made a comment to the PAX about the rain stopping. To which more than one PAX replied “…it does not rain at the Dawghouse.” Nice.

Well there might not be rain … but here comes the pain (yup… this back blast includes 2rd grade level rhyming)

• SSH x 15

THE THANG:

Mosey to loading dock. 3 circuits

1. Lunge walk – 35 LBCs
2. High Knee – 30 Mericans
3. Bear Crawl – 35 squats

Mosey to the quad

• Partner up. One partner does 10 up and overs while the other partner does burpees. Switch out until 50 burpees done.

Mosey to the steps past the football field

• Partner up
• One partner does bobby hurlies while the other runs up and down steps…switch
• One partner does V-ups while the other runs up and down steps
• Repeat

Mosey to the tennis courts

• 20 burpees on your own.. pick up the six
• 25 deep squats on your own… pick up the six

Mosey to Mary

• Crunchy Frog x 15
• The Box x 10
• American Hammer x 15
• Pretzel Crunch x 10

Learned this morning that @habs is a beast at burpees. I lucked out having him as a partner.

I’ll be honest @Ticonderoga, I had to go to a prior Dawghouse back blast to get that name. I have no clue what it means. I’m going to have to get the story behind that next time I post where you’re at.

@bunion is one other name that got me thinking. I’m sure there’s a story there. Have to get that next time I post.

I was more than impressed that @FNG (Jessie) and @wild thang were posting in the gloom! Future HIMs right there!

The delivery of @dial up’s name in name’o rama is worth the price of admission to the beatdown. But if you record it on your cell phone, turn down the volume

It is obvious that @torch brings the style and swagger to the Dawghouse. Matching stars and stripes headband and socks. (Don’t worry @torch I won’t mention the ‘gas incident’ on the tennis courts. You can blame the smell on the trash dump.)

Was good to see @talladega on his home truf! I usually see him crushing The Ridge beatdowns or cruising the streets of the Berg on Saturday morning. Always on #beastmode

I should have known that @spauldini would study my map and let me know that I had not extended the route to include the steps. It was a real conflict for me. I had to deviate from a laminated winkie! I will send for your review prior to any future Dawghouse beatdowns

Cheers to @uecker for the Slack posting and networking that got me to the Dawghouse. Was well worth the trip. I’ll be back!
