Valley Runs are bad for the environment

All The Valley Backblasts

July 15th, 2019 By Laser

5 PAX posted at The Valley AO Monday run known as Velocity.  Monday runs are intended to be higher intensity training runs with either speed work or hills.  Since YCH has joined the Dawgs BRR team, the latter was on tap today.

The route would include the Winchester and Wellington neighborhoods, a few segments, some greenway action and a nice stroll back to the launch point.  But then it happened….

As we hit the first segment, part of the F3 Roller Coaster with a dash of F# Nemesis we picked up Gentle Grizzly at the bottom of Armitage Dr.  As we made a turn around to head back up, we lost 2Step, and were informed by Grizzly that he was making a stop to take care of natures call.

Once we got to the top of Armitage, Pleasure broke off the other direction.  Once again, Grizzly was the PAX in the know and said young Pleasure wanted the full segment so he ventured back to the intersection.  We were now down from 5 PAX to three with 2Step in the woods and Pleasure on the hunt.  As we made the next turn Grizzly and YHC decided to go back and see if Pleasure was catching back up but he was nowhere to be found.  So, we turned back around to find the other PAX.

No-H  had kept plowing forward, and when we caught back up to him, 2Step had emerged from the woods feeling lighter.  Unfortunately, all this conversation about relieving oneself got the morning constitution brewing in YHC.  It wasn’t a quarter mile later that 2Step graciously provided his remaining (unused) TP and YHC broke for the woods as well.

Eventually all the calls of nature were over and the 4 remaining PAX made the Avon Farm climb back toward the launch point.  YHC called an audible on the rest of the ruote not knowing how the chaos of the morning impacted our return time.  We hit the AO with 8 min to spare, so 2Step and YHC got in another .75 or so and then met the PAX, less Pleasure who’s car was also gone, for the COT.

All in all, it was a good morning with plenty of hills and a couple of piles.  We may need to sponsor a porta-potty somewhere near the Greenway. #confessions #gloompoopers #bringTP
