Rescued from Sharknado at H19

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

May 9th, 2019 By Sugar

Saw late Tue that no one took the Q spot for today so I jumped on it because someone mentioned (like an idiot) something about Sharknado. Thought maybe I could come up with something better.

Launched a somewhat Half A attempt at a disclaimer and a short mosey to some open pavement for a quick warm up with various warmup type exercises. (leading of course with SSHs mostly together as a group).

So not a huge fan of Sharknado but still, I like that idea of some consequences for Q spots going unfilled so here’s what I came up with: 1 round of Sharknado exercises OYO.
15 Burps
20 Diamond Merks
20 WWIIs
20 Merks
20 Scorpion dry docks

That’s it, that’s all I had planned……so let the fun begin. Off to the HH Greenway to see what ‘speaks to me’. (Which coincidentally is the same method I use for selecting beer at the store – I stand in the beer aisle until a certain beer ‘speaks to me’.)

Let’s introduce the PAX to the new emergency location markers that let 991 operators know where you are when you’re in trouble. Noticed them yesterday during the Cruise/ruck – spaced roughly every 100 yds.
Squats at every sign, reps = location number this one being 19.

Off to the bridge for some problem solving – We need to cross but only half the PAX can touch the bridge. Best way, partner up and buddy carry/piggy back across. (Except for Ty Webb and The Bear who busted there way through the PAX to race to the other side like George Costanza pushing kids out of the way to escape a fire! In their defense, one strategy would have been for the group to run across half at a time)

Off to the next bridge with a few Evac signs along the way. (oh and a short Bear Crawl) Problem #2: all PAX cross the bridge but using only 12 hands and feet touching the bridge on the way across. (there were 12 PAX). Best way, Partner Wheel Barrow. Then mosey to the corner for some plank action. and another Evac sign.

Sprint to next sign, squats and sprint back and squat. (I think we made it to sign 14)

Next up some partner Dora work at the corner shelter. Timer is to bridge and back
30 1 legged Burpees
60 WWIIs

Based on time we head back to the AO respecting the signs and capping it off with 20 Monkey Humpers in cadence at the road.

Mose to Mary for High Scissor kicks, LBCs, Mason Twists and an almost 1 minute plank.

NMM

Truly a pleasure to lead this morning and as always thanks for playing along with my nonsense. I had fun and hope you did to!

Prayers to Grandmaster from Kannon AO who’s undergoing a heart cath today. Went into hospital yesterday with chest pains. **side note- for those of you who have not yet started getting regular check-ups from you Docter – START DOING THAT!!

Also continued prayers to HS and MC and their families.

AYE!

  1. Slight correction: someone mentioned (like a *genius*) something about Sharknado.

Fear mongering at its best. Got someone to Q right?

  2. Solid work, Sugar! I slept in from the rucking.
