Chasing That Blinking Light

All BackBlasts Backblasts

March 26th, 2019 By Head N Shoulders

One by one the Pax shows till we have 4 for the first half of the run. Today was a special day, a very special day because we had a special guest, “Chum”. Yes! and little did we know the mischief that he would bring to the run.  The run started off as any Tuesday training run does, up and out of the HT parking lot and right on 51, for a quick 1.5 mile out and then back to the parking lot to pick up the Pax for part 2 of the run.

The pace was a little on the “Othello” side (quick) but everyone seemed to be fine with the heavy breathing and less than normal chatter. As the run headed out 51, it was decided that we take a left down Mintwood to get to the 1.5 mile mark and then turn and head back. Just shy of the turn point 2 of the PAX took a quick U turn and headed back out towards 51 and the others hit the 1.5 and then did the U turn back. The group came back together just as we approached 51 and we cold see that a fellow runner (name unknown) “lets just say his last name might as well be BOLT” headed our direction back to the HT. At that point, Chum says to the rabbit ‘go catch that light” and that is all it took, Othello had been sitting on “G” and waiting on “O” so off he went. I could resist peer pressure so off I went chasing the rabbit and when passing by Chum and Clover all that could be herd in the gloom was laughter. I am pretty sure that it went something like this “Hey Clover! Watch This!”  Needless to say, the rabbit finally caught the blinking light and we exchanged salutations as we turned back to the HT where we changed runners and then back out to 51, and left for another 2 plus miles and finally finishing up at  – 5.5 miles total.

Announcements – Craft 1/2 this Saturday for Clover and H &S and the 5k for Othello and Toughskins. Tomorrows Q is Manbun and it is his V-Q, so don’t miss it.

Moleskin –

  1. Chum, it was great to have you back out for a run and BTW, there is no need to put gas on a fire that is already burning. The POWER of suggestion can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
  2. Othello – Almost a sub 8 min mile when chasing that blinky thingy. It may not have been blinking, that may have just been me fading in and out of consciousness.
  3. Clover – The smart one of the bunch, never wavier from the plan and things will end up pretty much the way you plan. Look forward to your PB this weekend at the Craft Half.
  4. Toughskins – Glad you were not traveling and could make it out today
