5 men put in some miles in the cold and damp gloom.  We were stopped by Traffic, Trains, and a skunk, but we pushed through anyway and got faster and stronger in the process.

Some days it’s easy to make excuses.  Like when your flight gets in at 10:45, you’re tired from lack of sleep in hotels, a couple reliable pax would have taken the Q for you, it’s probably raining, etc. etc.  Don’t know who that applies to, but someone, I’m sure, has had that dilemma.

These small decisions add up over time.  Do you take the easy out?  Or try to consistently get better, despite life getting in the way?  Go for the pizza because it’s easy?  The whole bag of candy?  Just 1 drink … let’s make that 2 … what the heck, 3 or 4 is fine.

8 of us (5 at road warrior and 3 at stretch) made the right choice today.  Each day presents these choices.  Hopefully we’ll be as smart tomorrow in all areas of life.  One step at a time.

Enough of that …

We took the familiar Shamrock route this morning, thinking it would be a mindless route with no traffic.  It didn’t happen like that.

We had to side step traffic twice while still in Town Center, then it took a couple minutes to even cross 49.

By the time we got to the railroad crossing, a train came by.  After we finally got on Shamrock road, the stench of a skunk lingered for about a half mile.

Then we saw something moving in the road … hey, what’s that???  A rabbit?  No, has to be a possum.  Wait wait!!  That’s a skunk weaving back and forth … holy!  Stay back!  That thing has already sprayed at least once on this road this morning!

We survived the skunk un-sprayed, this time.

We all got in 5 miles and are better for it.

Great work this morning guys.  The weather was actually nice for a run.

@SSMinnow and @Strapless were leading the way, as usual, making it look easy

@Wexler will be back in top shape in no time.  T-claps brother!  He’s recovering from a broken rib and quickly coming back.  What’s your excuse?

Strong work by @Flash this morning also.  That route is normally much less eventful
