Stoner Magic again

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

September 5th, 2018 By Heatstroke

YHC rolled into the lot a bit on the tardy side, 0530.  Plant the flag, get headlamp and join 7 other magical Pax for another exciting episode of the Magic Mile.  Appreciate Sparknut going ahead and taking care of the disclaimer and removing all liability and reliability from YHC.  With that, we moseyed to HRMS track.

Arrive at the track and do two more laps for warm up.  Then do some 100m acceleration gliders up and back and time for the Magic Mile.  This is pretty much an all out one mile effort.  Note your time and input into the calculator by clicking below.

This gives you an idea what you are capable of for different lengths of races and helps you with training pace.

Great job by Sparknut leading the pack and calling out times upon our arrival.  We had three from the last time we did this from about a month ago.  Tclaps to Love Seat who shaved 30 seconds off of his time.  Sparknut and YHC were each 6 seconds faster.  Nice job by everyone else on their first Magic Mile, especially our two newer PAX, Manwich and newly christened Drago, great job!

Upon completion of mile is a 5 minute walk, which pretty much equated to one lap around the track.  Then we slow moseyed for the rest of the time (2-3 laps I believe) and then back to the lot at WROPS.

COT: Prayers for our marriages, they take work and they ain’t easy.  Hope over Heroin this Friday and Saturday.  HDHH tonight at 26 Acres. Sugar on tap tomorrow.  The Bear has M3 on Friday.  Miles to be had on Saturday morning.  9/11 – 4 yr anniversary next Tuesday.

Moleskin: Big welcome to Drago!  Two days, two posts, nice work!  A little scuffling on the PAX’s part trying to come up with a name.  We finally went with Drago for the Ivan and the 5 letter “D” name.  The name might be a bit too cool, but sometimes it just happens that way.  Sugar’s attempt to get a Hunt for Red October themed name was thwarted.  Great job gents!  The plan is to run this every two weeks for the next 6 weeks and try to increase speed a bit.  YHC will allow simply posting and running on the track with the PAX if you’re not feeling the “magic”.  But why would someone not be feeling that?:)  Have a great day!

  1. Nice one Heatstroke! The build up to the mile of suck is dreadful, but the quicker paced training is much needed.

    Great work by everyone!

    Nice gain Love Seat!

  2. Turns out this only applies if the temps are 60 or cooler- was at least 10-12 degrees over that this morning!

    Until next time.
