Marquette Loop – partner style
All Rolling Stone BackblastsAugust 22nd, 2018
11 strong this morning! I’m not sure when or if we’ve ever had 11 for the run (like with no ruckers), but it’s at least been a long time. We would try a loop with a reverse to see if we can achieve better Pax awareness and maybe even build some 2nd F. Some stretched, disclaimer given…
THE THANG:
Partner up. Head down to the entrance of the Lizard Greenway. P1 heads north on Moss Plantation, left on Marquette, through the dead end, left on Lizard Greenway back to the start (1.2 mi). P2 runs it in reverse. Partners end up crossing each other at halfway, and everyone reverses their route when partners meet again near the start. Everyone get as many loops in as you can, and start heading back to WROP by 0610 for 0615 return Heatstroke and Roomba.
I liked it! It was nice to at least see most of the Pax a few times throughout the run because of the reversing. The loop is short and simple enough for a beginning runner to enjoy at a slower pace, yet challenge the most seasoned runner to run as fast as he wants, and even a little elevation change thrown in there for extra fun, and no one gets left behind.
Pax ran between 3-5 miles at various paces…
Some stretched…
MOLESKIN:
- Nice work men! It’s great to see this many out on Wednesday. Let’s keep it up.
- Welcome back El Sabado!
- Pox – Thanks for the visual reminder/example to stretch afterward. Too bad I didn’t pick up on that until right now. We/I need to do much better on that. I might not be having knee issues if I were more diligent about stretching.
- Rushmore – It’s a pleasure having you out there with us sir! #respect at 63 yrs old, making the hates look bad.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Get your Rolling Stone shirt order into Heatstroke ASAP!
- Q Source Saturday. It would be pretty awesome if someone would post a link of some sort on slack for this.
PRAYERS:
- Praise that Calendar’s mother is doing well and prayers for continued strength.
- Pray for those on IR and still fighting through injury – Schnitzel, El Sabado, Zima, and others.
- Prayers for Sugar as he goes through a challenging season.
Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Many call themselves Christians, and talk about God, and Jesus, and the Bible… blah, blah, blah. All of that is good, but the true test is how we love each other. What happens when your brother is going through hard times? Are we only friends during the good times, or the happy times, or the healthy times? Galatians 6:2 breaks it down very simply for us, if you are truly following Jesus, bear your brother’s burden.
…hope you got your money’s worth!

Thought the idea was great
Sparknut, great to be out there and it feels less bad when you blaze by me going the opposite direction as opposed to a normal cruise where I get lapped a few times. So I liked the little change-up.
Nice second F with HS for the first mile before I had to get out of the anaerobic zone (it was a very scientific discussion on running with a guy (Pox) who knows nothing about running.
I’ve got 5 blocks from our former Pax member Kato who has moved to SC. I’ll bring them for tomorrows challenge.
Yep, great new route, Sparknut, we will have to make that a regular run when we have decent number- and 11 was as you mentioned a record I think!
Until next time- CALENDAR out!
