RS Magic Mile
All Rolling Stone BackblastsAugust 15th, 2018
5 Stoners decided that they would defeat the fartsack so that could experience a little magic…The Magic Mile that is. Whatley even commemorated the occasion by rolling in on his beach cruiser…awww. YHC has come across the Magic Mile in doing a little research for his December 1/2 marathon and also seen Man Down doing them at a few beatdowns. So it was time to bring it to Stonerville. Disclaimer and we are off…
- Slow mile – to the track and 3 laps
- Acceleration gliders – slow pace 15 steps, faster pace 15 steps, even faster pace (not sprinting) 15 steps…then shut it down and glide it out. YHC has no idea if this was done right, but we gave it a whirl
- Magic Mile – basically just short of a balls out mile run, hard pace – record time
- Slow running until 0615
Why do the Magic Mile? Glad you asked. You take your mile time, plug it into this handy Magic Mile calculator found below and it will spit out the pace at which you should run 5Ks up to Marathons and what your training pace should be.

Here is how YHC’s looked. With training, and weight loss, looking for improvement as the months go on.

COT: Continued prayers for my Dad, Marie’s mom and Sparknut’s brother. Tomorrow is Week 2 of the Iron Pax Challenge with Kilowatt. RS Happy Hour tomorrow at Johnny Brusco’s 7:30/8pm
Moleskin: Not bad…well the Magic Mile was, but overall, it was good to get a solid one mile time to work off of. YHC still logged 3.8 miles today even though we were moving at a near glacial pace for most of it. YHC plans to do this (whether at a cruise or not) periodically to get feedback on training. Thanks for coming out brothers, it is always a pleasure to lead.
