11 of Harrisburg’s most charitable came out to help make our park a little bit nicer and get it ready for the July 4th Celebration.  We got a lot of work done and they were very appreciative.

Warm up:

• Get shirts/vests/rakes
• Get Marching orders
• Carry rakes up to the top of the hill

The Thang:

• Spread out over 50 yards of Mulch throughout all the flower beds
• Pick up enough garbage to fill up 5 -5 Gallon buckets
• Rake up all the clippings from the trimmed hedges

Mary:

Carry all the rakes back to the starting position

Thank you for everyone who came out in that heat this morning!  That was a lot of mulch but the park definitely looks great!  Sad to say it but @F3Harrisburg is the only group that has signed up for Adopt a Park.  They have had other groups help out for an hour here or there but we are the only ones who have made a commitment.  Here are a few upcoming ways we can continue to support the park:

1.  I will be organizing a Saturday Morning Post (or maybe during) Workout for us to help clear out the new trails they put in this Winter behind the fields.  There is about a 2 mile stretch that is overgrown and needs some maintenance.  We would need to bring Weed Wackers and there was talk of Machetes…so thats cool.  Stay tuned for details.
2. July 3rd/4th is their big 4th of July festival.  They need people to help pick up garbage on those evenings.  They usually have people sticking around from 10pm-11pm to just pick up all the trash.  There is also the option that we can head over the morning of July 5th and pick up whatever they were not able to get.  I will most likely organize something that morning if you are interested.
3. There will be another day where they would want a few guys for 4 hours coming up in Late July/Early August.   Hopefully we can find a time that would work for everyone.
