MOLESKINE:
As soon as I saw Escalade pull into the lot driving a convertible 4-series that he clearly borrowed from a friend (actually a rental), I suspected we may have a fast crowd. Then when I saw Anvil appear out of the gloom, with his trademark pre-workout sweat already going, I knew there was no reason to hold anything back, pace-wise. Seven of us departed the AO at 530, picking up an 8th (Minnow) about 100 meters down Main St. When we got to Morehead I noticed we were back down to 7, with Wexler dropping out due to an ankle issue. At the top of Morehead, we had another straggler – Secret had gone down with a pulled muscle. We wished him the best and kept heading on our way.
We reached the Harrisburg ES track at five til six, plenty of time to get a couple laps in (and a quick bathroom break if needed). Then an easy and straight shot back to the flag. All in all, we covered 5.3 miles at an 8:02 pace. Also I can report that Wexler and Secret made it back ok.
Thanks for coming out, thanks for letting me lead, and thanks for pushing yourselves for the full 45 minutes.
