Light up a Spartan

7 F3 Faithful met up for the main event at #TheRidge. How do you know you’re at the main event you ask… well, it’s confirmed when the high school softball team turns on the lights to witness #gains being made. #TClaps to those young ladies for putting early work in too! With the Spartan Sprint less than two weeks away, it was time to hone some skills and work on grip strength. Here’s how things went down.
Warm-o-rama: Mosey w/ Spartan warning (all remained), #Disclaimer, SSH ICx10, Windmill ICx10, IST ICx10, Merican ICx10
Thang (partner up and brief explanation given):
- Station 1: Spear Throw – knock the bucket down or do burpees
- Station 2: Racked weight carry or finger tip carry… switch weight types for each trip
- Station 3: Tire flips
- Station 4: Bucket carry or awkward half football dude carry
Complete 4 stations, meet in middle for burpees, run around a bit… repeato
Carry everything back to truck (still working on grip strength).

- Thanks for playing along w/ the added “gear”. Also, thanks for the opportunity to lead.
- Round 2 spear throws (w/ increased burpee counts) were much better than round 1 throws. Not sure if that was due to technique improvement or burpee avoidance…
- For those that haven’t done a Spartan, this was just a little flavor for some of the activities. The real events are much more fun and challenging… give it a try. Team F3Harrisburg will be launching 4/8 in Mt Pleasant. Join the team.

Announcements:
- Harrisburg 5k/10k is on Saturday, April 14. Pre-race beatdown at H’burg TownCenter at 6:30am. This is our F3 Harrisburg race and a SpeedForNeed event so it would be great to get an excellent Pax turn-out. See this backblast for more details.
- Operation Sweet Tooth Inaugural race is on Saturday, April 21. Volunteers are needed for race support. Details are at this link.
- The Tackling Childhood Cancer event is at Hickory Ridge High School on Saturday, April 28 starting at 12:00pm. The Tackling Childhood Cancer event is being organized by our F3 brother Opie. It is a family friendly and charity event with an ongoing flag football tournament among high school teams. There will be food trucks, raffles, vendor sales, bouncy houses, a fire truck, and more. Luke Kuechly, LB of the Carolina Panthers, will be there as well! More details at this link.
