No Q for the Cruise – Pick your route on the fly

All All MECA Backblasts

May 17th, 2017 By Sparknut

5 for the cruise – not a bad turn out. I told Heatstroke last night I’d check the SUG after servicing the M’s family bus, to see if anyone had signed up to Q, but upon finishing at 11:00 pm I decided everything would probably work out even if no one signed up…especially considering that Sharknado is not on the list of approved Wednesday WIB’s. There was the typical banter of where to run until I just told Sugar I’d follow him.

And we’re off to run some version of the Reverse Haunted Daycare Route, which is:

However, I’m not sure exactly what Sugar and Jimmy Buffett ended up doing, but Heatstroke, Loco, and Sparknut end up going past Moss Farm and it went something like this:

Strava via Apple watch logged 4.5 mi @ 8:14 pace

MARY: LBC x 20 IC,  Little Baby Flutter Kicks x 10 IC

MOLESKIN:

  1. Always a pleasure to be among you fine gentlemen, even if it’s at ridiculous hour. Great work by all!
  2. Heatstroke – great growth sir! Very impressive pace and distance this morning.
  3. Jimmy Buffett – tclaps for running to the Cruise. Are you training for something?
  4. Sugar – don’t hurt yourself before Saturday.
  5. Loco – happy Ironman training to you. Good to have you back out in the gloom

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  1. June 3rd – King Tiger (I think it’s a 5K)
  2. June 3rd – The Bear
  3. Red Friday at Rolling Stone through the end of May

PRAYERS:

I’ve been studying this lately. Not trying to be heavy, but want to tell the truth. God is real y’all, and He will hold us responsible for what we know:

Romans 1:19-20  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

…hope you got your money’s worth

  1. We are turning into an all around F3 force to be reckoned with! Great work boys!

  2. Great push this morning guys. I was just starting to reel you back in then you crossed Moss Farm and my legs said to me: “I don’t think that’s a good idea. Who knows where those crazy kids are going.”

So I 45’ed it and headed back to WROPS…

  3. I was with ya’ll the whole way – just hard to see 100 yds back! Nice audible! Of course the daylight helped to find Marquette in the Moss Creek Maze!

Nice job Heat Stroke. And we should also say nice job to Heat Stroke’s Hamstring for a strong performance!

4+ mileage is become standard fo us Cruising Stoners!

  4. BTW: I’ll be Qing a longish run on Sunday 7:30 pm. About 6-8 miles at a 9:00 pace starting at the WROP AO. It will be 2 different loops of ax. 3.5 miles each, so can do only one if you prefer. Who will join me? So far, I’ve only had 1 taker – Jimmy Buffett. Good job Jimmy!

  5. @sparknut not sure I like the direction you’re trying to steer this ship. FYI push-ups and Sit-ups are also a required part of the PT test! Lol

  6. Still stunned my hammies not only held up, but performed at a high level (thx @Sugar)…for me. No 45 for me today.
@sparknut thanks for handling the BB and for the push. You are right, I was asking myself why I followed you when I realized it was Marquette/Greenway, not Marquette/Moss Farm, brutal finish. Good job setting the pace after a late night, well done! The Sunday run is kind of a bad time as that is when it is all hands on deck getting the children in bed, but who knows…maybe. And oh yeah, I am looking forward to the back blast from your “Q”
@Loco good to see you out there man
@Jimmy Buffett hope all this extra running is getting you in good Spartan shape
If not nursing an injury, might becoming a Cruise regular…sorry @Whatley, just becoming more well-rounded.
Hope to be at HH tomorrow and see you all there!

  7. Love the FNG designation. It was definitely good to get out again with you brothers. Strong push by @Sparknut which is usual but sometimes we need that external force to excel. Although I’ll be sparse at kettle bell and boot camps, I’ll try and get to more cruises when I can.

  8. You guys must have really cranked it up the last 1/2 mi. I just looked at my data and I was around 7:40! Catching you wasn’t gonna happen today. Didn’t want to blow it out what with the Mud Run coming up and all 🙂

  9. I show 7:40 for us too. Nice work Sugar!
