Another large turnout for an epic 5 routes today!  Longest run of this marathon training season and it sure was great to get it done.

5 routes

#1 – 5.5miles – Dingo, The Farm, Pavorotti, Filibuster, Forgotten Jelly, Brutus, Astro Van

We ran the “Easy” Mallard creek park route.  All down hill on this route, except for the uphill parts.  The Farm and I had to work hard to keep our pace around 9:30.  The speedsters were out and they were not slowing down this morning!  Unfortunately AstroVans knee problems resurfaced.  Hope it is just a minor set back brother!

#2 – 5 miles – Dingo, The Farm, Pavorotti, Filibuster, Forgotten Jelly, Brutus, Hot Wheels, Blinddate, Gordo, Gentle Grizzly

This was the more complicated of the routes.  The local boys got lost almost immediately.  Apparently the Farm gave orders NOT to pick up the 6?  I don’t believe that for a second, so I had to get a little nasty on this one!

#3 – 4 miles – Dingo, The Farm, Pavorotti, Filibuster, Forgotten Jelly, Gordo

Nice little jog down to Trader Joes and around to Galloway.  Gordo found exhilaration running downhill, the Farm quickly ruined that for him.

#4 – 5 miles – Dingo, The Farm, Pavorotti, Filibuster, Forgotten Jelly, Gordo

Not all ran the whole 5 here.  Jelly and Gordo did about 3 miles, Pavorotti and Filibuster a little more than 3.  The Farm and I knocked out 5.  I was really starting to struggle at this point.  It was hotter than normal and I was experiencing some dehydration.  The Farm was as strong as ever and kept me moving!  Thanks bro!

#5 – 3 miles – The Farm & Dingo

The Farm found his groove and knocked this out!  I was in hell.  Wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish.  Cramping was settling into my calves and I was more than a little concerned.  I get pushing and about a 1.5 in I found relief and was able to finish a little more respectably than I thought I would.

Some big numbers today.  Congrats to all who ran!

22 miles – The Farm and Dingo

19 miles – Filibuster and Pavorotti

17 Miles – Forgotten Jelly

10 Miles – Brutus and Gordo

5 miles – AstroVan, Blinddate, Gentle Grizzly, Hot Wheels
