11 men came together on this chilly morning to see if YHC would spill merlot. With all this marathon training, it’s been since before Christmas that I last Q’ed a bootcamp. Throw in whatever my kids gave me and little sleep, I knew this would be interesting.

Just so you know, no one spilled merlot. Although, when Backcracker showed up, I did think it would be possible. Especially when he said it’s been a few weeks since he has done anything.

Once everyone pulled in from all directions to prisoner check-in, a quick disclaimer was given and we were off.

Warm-Up
– pick up cinderblocks on the way to the cell block
– SSH x 12
– IST x 12
– cotton pickers x 12
– Merkins x 10 OYO

The Thang
Mosey to the gun range
– Pullups x 10
– Dips x 20
– WWII situps x 30
– 3 total rounds

Mosey back to the cell block
– Partner up, each pair grabbed a cinder block
– Partner A did curls AMRAP, Partner B did bear crawl to other side of tennis court and jogged back
– 3 total rounds (SWITCH)

This is where we learned that El Toro is somewhat acrobatic. Nice roll brother.

– Stay with partners
– Partner A did chest press AMRAP, Partner B ran around the full tennis court (SWITCH)
– 3 total rounds

– Mosey to Prison Yard
– Jack Webbs (1-10)
– YHC is pretty sure that Man Down and Hot Wheels figured out that I was dying at this point, so Man Down took over the counting for me at the very end. Thanks brother!

At this point Dumbledore took off to get ready for work or something.

– Mosey back to the cell block to focus on abs
– LBCs x 10
– Pretzel Crunch x 10

– Partner up one more time with the cinder blocks
– As YHC was literally counting down the time, we did the chest press routine again (3 total rounds)
– Mumblechatter picked up at this point. Rightfully so. I would’ve done the same thing.

Time to put back the cinderblocks and head back to prisoner check-in for some Mary.

Mary
– at this point I really started to wonder if YHC would spill merlot. If we went 10 more minutes, i think it could’ve happened.
– Pax led mary
– Now this is where the title of this BB comes from. To make it simple, or so I thought, I explained to the pax that we would just go around the circle and pick exercises. Pretty straightforward. After about 3-4 guys picked something, it was time for Hot Wheels to pick an exercise. As he thought for a good one to challenge the pax, Seeker took it upon himself to pick the next one and yelled out “boxcutter.” What made this strange is that it wasn’t his turn for at least 4 more guys. As we all started to laugh, he looked around and said “oh, i didn’t realize we were going around the circle.” That made this moment even funnier. Well done seeker.
– Hot wheels chose something followed by Man down. With time for just one more, YHC called on seeker so he could have his moment of glory.

Moleskin
– great effort by everyone. Lots of strong guys here. I look forward to Qing again in a few weeks. I’ll make sure I do plenty of merkins between now and then.
– good to see you again @counselor. It’s a shame that @Man Down was so selfish and didn’t invite you to stay at his house. Instead he made you drive from south of town.
– I certainly hope this was at least a little challenging for everyone.
– Brutus is returning home from his trip to Uganda this afternoon. He will be at the Academy on Thursday.
– Prayers go out to Man Down’s M. Latest report is everything went well.
– Remember to get flowers for your significant others Pax. Or at least get them a card.
