Cruise to the House of Pain
All All MECA BackblastsFebruary 8th, 2017
Six Stoners went on a run, to a house (of pain,) and back. These brave men ventured into the 55 degree mist/gloom for my offical VQ like this:
The Thang:
Approximately 1 mile run to mi casa where the garage was ready
Group splits in half where one half works in garage and other group runs around the block (approx 1/4 mile or so.) Upon returning, runners into the garage and workers go to run.
Garage exercises (choose any of below and work through to sufficient exhaustion):
- Pull up (variation: blast strap row)
- Trap Bar Deadlift (100 lbs. total) Variation: DL with 25lb. weights
- Barbell Complexes – 45lb barbell in hand and do 5-10 reps each before moving to next movement without putting bar down (DL, BO Row, Hang Clean, Front Squat, Push Press, Back Squat, Good Morning)
- KB Swing – 24kg – 53lb
- Farmer’s Walk – 40lb Salt bags – go 3 driveways and back
- Jump Rope
- Medicine ball ab work – mason twist, lbc, etc.
- DB Curl – adjust DB from 10-50 lb.
Three rounds of garage work and we are headed back to Odell.
We arrive back and my phone tallies about 3.35 running miles total. Not bad. A 5K+ and a lift.
Announcements:
I forgot some as quite a few were blurted out.
- Ruckapalooza Sat at 6pm at 26 Acres

Prayers:

- Sparknut’s M is having trouble passing a kidney stone. Was in ER a couple of days ago, but still dealing with it. Prayers to her.

Moleskin:
- Tclaps to the PAX for showing up for my VQ. Something a little different, hopefully you enjoyed (but not too much.) It was a pleasure leading this morning. Thanks for the motivation to get up and do this most every day.
- Miracle Grow (do I leave the W, or is it Gro, like the product? Probably need confirmation) is definitely getting fitter out here, doing a great job!
- Nothing like mid 50 degree weather in February.
-Heatstroke

Nice Beatdown, @Heatstroke!
Thanks! @Guinness
Nice VQ Heatstroke. Of course from now on if you don’t post you’ll have to leave your garage door up just in case we might want to incorporate that into a beatdown.
Hahaha! Yeah, I’ll be sure to give everyone my garage code. Not worried about the weights, but the beer fridge is another matter.
@Heatstroke- Great job! It was a nice variation of the Cruise and I still managed to log 4.01 miles. Thanks for opening up the house for us, which is a bit risky considering the crowd you might draw from the AO. And thanks for the encouragement to Miracle Gro/w (I think no “W”)
@Sugar- Let’s cruise to your house next week.
@Sparknut Thanks! And of course you somehow managed to log over a 1/2 mile more than I did.
Careful Sparknut, Sugar may try to trick everyone into a ruck that far.
