Summer Beach Body Prep!
All All MECA BackblastsJanuary 10th, 2017
Ever have those mornings where all you want to do is stay in bed? You lay there wondering if anyone will notice you not posting. Then you realize you’re the Q and you agreed to do a 3 mile pre-run. You start thinking about who you can text to take your Q. Thinking up extravagant lies because “I don’t want to” doesn’t seem like the best excuse. You know that guys like Buckwheat and AstroVan are posting and that they would take a Q for you any day of the week. The phone is in your hand, but you just can’t bring yourself to type the message. You don’t want to let your brothers down. Thats F3. Thats accountability.
So I got up, got ready and did the best I could.
Started out with what was supposed to be 3 mile pre run. Forgotten Jelly, Buckwheat, AstroVan and Brutus were all there ready to roll! My body was not having it this morning, so I settled for 2 miles, with the promise that I would do the last mile after the bootcamp.
Brutus ran back to the Precinct, Jelly kept running and the rest of us were joined by a motley crew and we started preparing for the summer!
We started out with a standard mosey and a standard 21 count warm up. Maximus and Guinness both enjoy a good pattern and were looking for meaning behind the 21. No meaning, it was supposed to be 22, my lucky number, but I messed up on the first count, so I stuck to 21.
We moseyed over to the church building and instructions were given for AB day.
Parter up
In front of building 20 x WWII sit-ups
each partner runs in opposite directions
Stop at first corner for 30 x reverse crunch
2nd corner 40 x LBC
Meet on the other side for 20 x WWII sit-ups
Reverse back to the front
We repeated this 4 times with different variations on ab exercise
We broke it up with some peoples chair. Seeker was introduced to a 90 degree angle and the screams of pain ensued.
No need for Mary, it was 45 mins of Mary!
All men are now prepared to expose there summer bodies. Some more eager than others to get out of clothing……
I was very rudely reminded by Forgotten Jelly that I still had another mile to run…….Thankfully Astro Van was already heading out for a 1 mile run. A quick call out to Buckwheat sucked him in and he somehow talked Seeker into running. So 4 of us knocked out 1 more mile post beatdown!
The AB rippling Moleskin;
1. Good work men! My ABs are screaming!
2. Thanks for the Pre and Post runs guys!
3. Enjoyed the laughs this morning!
4. F3 Poker and Guns coming soon!
5. MeCa HEC started yesterday!

Dingo came to work the abs, but somehow the focus was his butt.
Notice that I did try and leave that part out of the BB……
I don’t think the Pax will be able to forget….
Good workout@dingo. Always a surprise – an abs day. Thanks!
I think I may be getting a tad bit of runner’s pull from all this running activity and news. My body may be able to take a mile or two or three more/week me thinkest.
Louie, guiness, seeker – are any of you want to run a mile or so pre-workout at tradition tomorrow? Is that where the major leaves from at 5:05 tomorrow? If I get there at 5:05 will anyone be there?
My goal was to get there at 5AM tomorrow and try to pre-run 2ish miles, enough to make sure I’m back and ready by 5:25 easily since I’m the Q. (So I’ll aim for 5 and run around the church a few times if I get there first, then go run a mile or two depending on time)
Pretty sure @Major shows up every single MWF for a 5:05 2 mile pre-run. I see him on it when I leave late, run it with him when I’m on time, and when I’ve drove to the Cruise I’ve also seen him running down the road as well. Only time I didn’t see him do it was when he was Q’ing RED Friday last week and had to measure the distance for the cone in the opposite direction.
Maximus i will let you know whenever i do a Pre run at Tradition.
Actually…..tomorrow we are doing a 1 mile pre-run from tradition over to the valley to do a 4.5 mile cruise, then a 1 mile post run back to Tradition. Would be awesome if you joined us!!
Thanks for the invite @dingo! I’ll be there at 5 and run with the King or Dingo et al or Major or all 3 if all head to the Valley. I can run to the Valley and back in less than 30 minutes given all this training. Back to tradition for Iron Fist and see if I am still breathing at 6:15!
Thanks @King Louie – I will be there at 5:00 am tomorrow and take it from there. Look forward to running tomorrow. My new fit bit will like the extra steps it counts!
Nice beatdown @Dingo. Liked an abs day and it was good when the cold asphalt worked its way through my body and numbed my abs. Couldn’t feel a thing. When I couldn’t hold my body up any longer during Mason Twists, I had no idea why.
Rudely reminded? I think that’s called accountability. You’re welcome.
Very rude……
