10 men! Thats right, 10 M….E….N posted for a winter wonderland cruise. Snowmageddon did not come, surprise! How these weather men keep their jobs, I have no idea. Predicting the weather seems to be more about hysteria than anything these days and don’t get me started on these %’s they use these days…..

3 routes were pre planned. A message BY a bottle system was established. We were ready to roll.

@Chowder was a little concerned that he would be the only 5:00 cruiser. Texts went out at 4:58 about the lack of able bodies at Tradition. By 5:00 there were 4 of us. We waited as Pharaoh went through some pre game ritual in his car and off we went.

6.5 miles out to Davis Lake and back. Not the best conditions. I personally found it a little hard to relax and I think that caused me to have some muscle tightness, but we were running in fresh snow, so I guess something would be different.

We got back to find a large number of bodies ready to roll. Who would have thought we would have 10 men out cruising on snowy morning!

A simple 4 mile route was run. Major announced he was only there to make us run farther. For that we are thankful.

We lost 4 men at the next change over and started out on another 5-6 miles. Forgotten Jelly turned around at headed home after 1 mile. Brutus was running circles in the parking lots confusing the heck out of everyone.

We knocked that out and then a couple of us got 1 more mile in so I could round of my 17 mile run.

The Crispy Moleskin;

1. So cool to have 10 runners out today! I was personally very thankful to have men to run with over the entirety of the 17 miles. Thank you.
2. Great to see @Chowder, @Pavorotti and @Filibuster! I hope you all with join us more regularly leading up to Wrightsville.
3. Brutus loves to run
4. Jelly likes to ask if people are OK
5. Pharaoh is simply a beast!
6. Trail Mix – Thanks for listening to my complaints.
7. King Louie – Thanks for running that last mile with me. You are not as beautiful as Buckwheat. Sorry.
8. Major Pain – Really appreciate you coming out. Other guys may not know, but MP came out because he was worried I would be alone.
9. See you next week for 18 miles!

  1. Nice run this morning. Enjoyed the routes and the 2nd F.

    @dingo – you ok?

  2. People asked me about running, they said: “Was it cold??????” Me: “The ground crunched a lot.”

    Glad to see everyone out, good to run with Jelly a bit, sad to not get any running in with the Major. Was fun to do, be nice to try running in snow some more again.

    And sorry I can’t be the beautiful @Buckwheat majestically coming out to run with you @Dingo 🙁

  3. I’m glad I made it out this morning. It was rather surreal running in the dark over crunchy snow. Thx for organizing these Saturday runs, Dingo.
