Operation Sweet Tooth @ Church of God orphanage
All All MECA BackblastsDecember 18th, 2016
Olive,
We can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a daughter. It must be especially difficult this time of year. Words can only do so much, but we know that your F3 brothers have been much more than just words. Keep on posting and fighting through. We are here for you.
Thanks to your perseverance and fortitude through this difficult situation, OST was created and has blessed many kids. This orphanage is only one example.
F3 Brothers,
The Church of God Orphanage (http://www.cogch.org/) and F3 Harrisburg joined together last week to bless the kids with some much needed gifts and attention. The kids were not the only ones blessed in the process. We brought our families and met with theirs and made friends. Here are some of the highlights from the night.
- The kids were very well behaved. The oldest one there was all smiles and seemed wise beyond his years as if he had experienced a lot in his life already.
- Their reaction as they opened the gifts was priceless. The boy who got the Lego basketball court could not contain his excitement.
- Multiple comments were made that they get a lot of attention around the Holidays, but not much at other times – call to action related to that coming later.
- Some of the 2.0s played soccer with the kids.
- One of the boys talked about robotics with one of the F3 2.0s. The F3 dad is now going to sponsor him in joining a robotics summer program.
- One of the F3 Ms is a teacher for kids of similar ages and quickly related to their home parents challenges and successes of that age.
- A 2.0 realized they only had one soccer goal and asked his dad if they could donate their goals to use. They will be dropping off the goals for them soon.
- LOTS of sports trash talking with the boys. No team was off limits to their trash talking and they really liked getting a reaction out of us.
Thanks to all the F3 Harrisburg brothers that made this possible. We have some very generous men and YHC is glad to be part of the group.
We are planning future meetups with the Orphanage. Look for future pre-blasts with the details and please participate. Let’s not be the group that they only see once a year.
Good male influences are critical to healthy kids. We can’t be there for them daily, but we can do more than just once a year.
Merry Christmas!
