The Dropcloth 500….now featuring Dropcloth!

All All MECA Backblasts

December 1st, 2016 By Disaster

18 men showed up in the too-warm-for December temperatures this morning to face yet another disastrous workout. Today’s beatdown was inspired by @Juggernaut’s RED workout that he brought up to MECA from Columbia (SC) a few weeks ago. After @Alcatraz planted the shovel flag there was a quick disclaimer and then we were off for a quick mosey up to the back parking lot.

As the faster members of the PAX completed their fourth rotation they were instructed to help out the rest of the group as needed. The entire PAX finished the challenge by 602AM, giving us a few extra minutes for additional exercise. @Nanny suggested taking one last victory lap as a group but because my ears were still ringing from having completed 200 merkins I had no idea what he was talking about. With a polite shake of the head I instead sent the PAX over to the Middle School for some wall based activities. Sorry @Nanny maybe next time.

  1. It was great to see @Dropcloth back in our midst today. I think he was confused by seeing his name on the Sign Up Genius and thought he was supposed to play a role in the workout somehow. Welcome back.
  2. @Chopper was surprisingly quiet today (meaning he only talked about 90% of the time instead of 100%). Apparently he was busy counting and was unable to multi-task. Math, the great equalizer!
  3. @Alcatraz attempted to share details about his most recent hernia during Marry but he was quickly voted down by the rest of the PAX. #TMI
  4. @Gump made a late appearance about 614AM, conveniently right after we finished Marry. Apparently he was out for a solo run but there is still no independent confirmation of the fact from anyone else. I added him to the PAX list anyway. Getting soft in my old age.
  5. Welcome to FNG Jud Cooney (sp?) who came with @Buffalo Bill. Don’t forget that December is the FNG challenge month so do your best to EH that pesky neighbor or co-worker who is still on the fence. As of 615AM Highlands had an early 1-0 lead over the rest of MECA, with 2% of precincts reporting.
  6. The Sign Up Genius is almost completely empty for the month of December so please sign up to ‘Q’ if you can. With a group as large as ours there is no excuse for having empty slots. If everyone signed up for one slot per month we would be completely covered. One of the great benefits to F3 is the variety of leadership but it can’t happen if you don’t do your part. If I can do this anyone can.

It was great leading you men today. Thanks for showing up. Sound off below.

  1. Thanks @Disaster for a horrible gloom experience. My body appreciates/hates your leadership.

There is way more information to share about my hernia surgery and I probably crossed a line with @Slappy this morning as he is about to have the same procedure. So if you are having hernia surgery or a vasectomy, I refuse to help you shave but we can talk all you want!

  2. Ok first off there is no such thing as a Dropcloth 500! It was a Dropcloth 200 – so I would like to officially request Disaster apologize to all the Pax for making us run an extra 1200 yards today!

Great to be back in the gloom and see all the “old” faces! And might I add it’s not often you have 3+ years in F3 but get confused as an FNG when it’s been so dang long.

Alcatraz the hernia mesh comment was a classic way of ending this workout!

    1. I figured if the Dropcloth 200 takes up just under half of the parking lot, that running the full parking lot would make it a Dropcloth 500. Plus it has a much better NASCAR-like ring to it than the Dropcloth 440. Next time @Chopper gets too chatty we’ll see if he can work the math out for us. Great having you back with us today.

  3. well @disaster it is not impressive, however here is the proof of a run.

    1. Well there you have it. That’s probably farther than I can run so no more finger pointing. Well done @Gump.
