In celebration of my 31st birthday I chose to play some games with our newly booming F3 at the G; Catch Phrase. (see video, I have not seen it with sound since I am writing this at orientation but it looks interesting).

After months of social media posts, passing out flyers at school, coffee shops and chasing down (literally) random runners on the street I had given up on growing F3 at the G and focused on family and work. Yet the past 3 weeks in a row we have had a FNG (friendly new guy) show up thanks to the PAX inviting friends. I am blown away and relieved.

It has taught me that Sometimes we have to put in the effort and then relinquish complete control to God for things to grow on their own so that HE can show you who is in control.

The thang:

Break into two teams (Rube and R2D2 vs. FNG, triple threat and crentist)

Do each exercise non stop until you receive the catch phrase. Then you can pause and describe the words on the screen to your partners (who continue working out). As soon as your team guesses you pass the catch phrase to opposing team. Whichever team gets stuck with it when the timer goes off has to do a penalty exercise. Winning team has a easier exercise.

ROUND ONE: Parking lot

Mountain climbers, squats, merkins
Penalty: losers 5 X burpees, Winnners 10 X side straddle hop

Mosey to railings, hand rail walk

ROUND TWO: Near R2D2’s classroom

Step ups on curb, dips, merkins
Penalty: losers 10 X dips with alternate leg lifts, winners 10 X side straddle hops and dips

Mosey to hand rails, hand rail walk opposite direction

ROUND THREE:

Feet planted pull ups and L.B.C.’s
Penalty: “P90X kicks” (No idea what they are, I saw them on a P90X video” and they were MUCH harder than anticipated).

Mosey back to parking lot

Pretzel Crunch X 15

Announcements, COT, naming of “moranis” (I have no clue how to spell it), and end the day with some chatting and Coffee from some thermoses (thermosi?).

I think it was pretty clear that Rube and I won catch phrase hands down and that many Pax cannot think and workout vigorously at the same time. But it was fun and a great way to celebrate my Bday.

Thanks fellas! Keep EH’ing (recruiting) friends and help the pax grow. I will start on EH’ing teachers and staff at Garinger starting this Thursday.

Next week we are going for breakfast at Bojangles up the road immediately after the workout. All are welcome.
