F3 Dads – MECA “Pain and Pancakes” Backblast – Harrisburg

All F3 Dads Backblasts

July 16th, 2016 By Dick Tracy

83 (!) PAX and 2.0s converged on Stallings Road Park for the F3 Dads workout: “Pain and Pancakes” Edition.  YHC and co-Q Solo Cup were humbled and honored for such an incredible turnout.  Photo album here!

Warm Up

Mosey on over to outfield of the Baseball Field

Line everyone up

Fifty Yard Scream

When the Q calls go, all PAX and 2.0s run for as far as they can as they scream. They are only allowed one breath, so as long as they are yelling they may continue to run.  Once they stop screaming, they must stop and sit down. Once the last person has sat down you will be able to see how far everyone got.

Repeato x 2

Mosey over to home plate and make teams of four-six PAX and 2.0s

Home Run Derby

Start at Home plate, 10 SSH

Sprint to 1st Base, 10 Merkins

Sprint to 2nd Base, 10 Squats

Sprint to 3rd Base, 10 LBC

Sprint to Home plate

Repeato

Mosey over to right field line, line up and count off by four

Cone On, Cone Off

Count off into a four-team relay.  Each team is given one ball, and lines up 25 yards away from a training cone.  On “go,” first person in line runs to cone and places ball on top, and runs back to line, tagging next person.  Second person, runs to cone grabs ball and runs back.  Repeato until all done.  Once you’re done, you sit down.  First team done, wins.

Repeato with F3 Dads only.

Mosey to home plate, 1&2’s and 3&4’s team up.  Two lines against the fence, one headed to third, one to first.

Dizzy Bat Race

Spin seven times and run to your nearest base, all the way through to home.  Sit down when you’re done.  First team complete wins.

YHC Note: This is where the pain came in.  2.0s … okay.  PAX … not okay.  Tclaps to Funky Bunch and McFeely for falling down and getting back up, and thanks to Cardiac for checking them out.

British Bulldog

All PAX and 2.0s line up in the outfield behind a set of cones.  Three “Bulldogs” in the middle.  Everyone must run to the second set of cones, without getting caught by the “Bulldog.”  If you get caught, you’re now a “Bulldog.”

Repeato

Timebomb

All PAX and 2.0s circles up.  Two wiffle balls start from a single point and go around the circle in opposite directions.  PAX must toss wiffle balls to one another.  Any wiffle ball drops results in five ‘Mericans by everyone.

Name-O-Rama

… with 23 FNGs by my count!

Moleskin

In a week where we have seen so much pain, so much heartache, so much distress and discord, it was incredible to see how many people I saw smiling today.  The men of F3 truly are brothers, in good and bad.  Today was a whole lot of good.

Aye!

  1. Sound off below!

  2. Three cheers for @DT, @Clueless, @Mrs.Klump, and F3Harrisburg Pax for hosting such an awesome event!! I saw kids cheering on people they don’t know. I saw tons of high fives, daps, and shoulder slaps. Thank you for allowing me and my 2.0s the opportunity to participate in such an awesome display of brotherhood and living out your faith. God blesses you all.

    1. Aye!

  3. Outstanding F3 morning in Harrisburg… the fun and Fellowship were strong! I know my 2.0’s had a blast.

Big thanks to @DickTracy and @SoloCup for the workout lead. Many thanks to all who contributed to the post-workout breakfast (supplies, equipment, $$)… special note for @Finnigan and the super generator and @BearClaw, @SidVicious, @MKlump, @Nautilus, @Bull, @HongKongPhooey, @JohnDaly on spatula duty (some without 2.0’s there… just to help make the event a success).

  4. Now THAT is how to do an F3 Dads!!! I only wish I could’ve been there. 🙁 Would’ve been MUCH more fun than sitting at a conference listening to a lecture about the pulmonary system.

  5. Yes good job to all from @F3Harrisburg that put it together. My daughters were asking if they could come back and workout like that again next Saturday (no big deal waking up early on a Saturday)…. Guess I will have to find a different way to entertain them until Highlands puts on their show (the bar is set high! 🙂 ).

On a side note, I will abstain from anymore activities that contain the word dizzy! I am no longer built to spin around something more than once. I think I will still be feeling that incident into this week.
