It’s a Good Thing That Dog Was on a Leash!

All All MECA Backblasts

8 Prisoners weren’t scared of a little rain and showed up for this unplanned, no weinke, make it up as you go beatdown. Here’s how things went to the best of my recollection:

Mosey down Saxonbury/Katlyn for a quarter mile or so for warm-o-rama in the middle of an intersection. Man Down expressed his concern for possible oncoming vehicles. Fortunately, they were all scared of the rain so we didn’t get run over.

Mosey back up the hill and out to the Prison Yard/Cell Block. We encountered two dedicated dog walkers on our way back. We learned that Trail Mix wouldn’t love his dog that much if he had one and Iron Wolf’s dog won’t go outside in the rain. Man Down nearly got attacked by one of the dogs on a leash. I guess he didn’t like the conversation you were having while running??
Get out the tires and blocks for a good old fashion rec yard beatdown completely on the fly.

We had eight pax and eight cinderblocks, but only six tires. Six pax do tire flips the width of both tennis courts. Other two pax do 10 cinderblock burpees then carry block to far end of second court.

1-10 Block Webb Ladder. This was absolutely horrible. What was I thinking??
After a little drizzle to start, the deluge begins. There were complaints galore about YHC’s lack of planning; the Block Webb ladder sucking; the rain, wet ground, and the suction noise it makes when doing MARY exercises on wet cement.

Move over to other side of the nets for a quasi suicide with pain stations. Run to far end of first court for 10 Bobby Hurley’s back to start for 10 LBC’s. Run to far end of second court for 5 burpees and back for 10 W’s. REPEATO.

Back to the cinderblocks for 20 chest press, 20 skull crushers, 20 biceps curls, and 20 squats. REPEATO all four exercises.
Six pax do tire flips the width of both courts and back while the other two pax do AMRAP cinderblock burpees.

Back to other side of nets for a bear crawl/lunge walk suicide. Bear crawl the width of first court and do 10 mericans. Bear crawl back and do 10 CDD’s at start line. Lunge walk to far end of second court. 10 sumo squats. Lunge walk back and do 10 partner get ups (5 each arm) & 20 partner push downs.

Put the tires and blocks away and mosey back to main lot for a very quick Mary. Hey look, there is a set of stairs. Lets do spider man mericans up those and air squats while waiting in line and at the top until everyone is done.

Wet Moleskin:
1) It was nice to visit the precinct again as it’s been a while.
2) Impressive showing in the elements.
3) Sorry I wasn’t better prepared today. I was dealing with a hip flexor issue last night and passed out at 8PM without planning anything :-(.
4) Great work by all this morning from what little I was able to see between the rain and the fact that I was too busy planning the next exercise to watch anyone or engage in mumble chatter.
5) King Tiger 5K is coming up. Sign up!
6) F3 Dads this Saturday at Rolling Stone, 0700.

  1. Sound off below.

  2. I don’t think you can classify running the width of a tennis court, as running to the “far end”. There’s nothing far about it brother. Great workout on the fly. My shoulder’s and chest will not appreciate you today or tomorrow I’m sure.

  3. Solid beatdown Buckwheat! Impressed with your “on-the-fly” planning. Your BB, however, neglected to call out Iron Wolf’s incessant whining! :'(

  4. Grizzly- You’re right. However, the Precinct pax clearly can’t understand basic tennis court instructions. Was that you?

Man Down: Good call. Sorry, I had to rush the BB as my work day started 0715. For being a pioneer of manly virtues, Iron Wolf was awful whiney today. First the tire, then the Cinderblock, then the rain. Geez. #notmanly. ;-).
