Touchdown Beatdown, Spring 2016 Edition

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: War paint, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of war paint in the morning.
Ok, so the war paint is odorless. However, it did meet @Conchito’s requirements for sensitive skin. YHC is always glad to accommodate. No shovel flag in sight, but 26 PAX and 2 FNGs gathered for the spring edition of the Touchdown Beatdown. With war paint applied and disclaimer given, the FNGs were probably thinking, “why did we come here and who is this guy yelling at me to ‘war paint up’ because he seems a little scary.”

THE THANG:
The Touchdown Beatdown is a 30 minute workout where the PAX must travel a mock football field with exercises along the way (yard lines = reps). It goes like this…
Bear Crawl endzone
10 Carolina Dry Docks
20 Squats
30 Merkins
40 Lunges (single leg)
50 LBC
40 Lunges (single leg)
30 Merkins
20 Squats
10 Carolina Dry Docks
Bear Crawl endzone
Run back to the other endzone repeato
That’s 240 yards and 250 reps each cycle. Moral disclaimer given and Whip/Nae Nae substitution for reps explained. 50 Cent said “go” and the PAX did work until the merciful sounds of the Hallelujah Chorus from the London Philharmonic Orchestra signaled the 30 minutes complete.
Tally sheets completed and a mosey began back to…
MARY:
Boxcutter x 15IC
COT (Tclaps to @ColMustard for keeping YHC on track here) and BOM!
WAR PAINTED MOLESKIN:
1. Great work by the PAX this morning! Interesting to see the numbers below. Some of the fastest from the winter edition didn’t hit their last mark, but there were others in the middle of the pack who posted a personal record. Please note that the numbers below were recorded as they were written with YHC’s attempt to interpret the various penmanship of the PAX. If you would like adjustments made to clarify your distance, please post in the comments. YHC keeps all the editions on one file, so you will see some names who participated previously.
2. Welcome FNGs Adam and Sean! Keep posting and rest assured the war paint and playlist are only a quarterly occurrence.
3. Congratulations to @Thorn for taking the trophy for a 3 straight time! It had been reported he would be out of town, so it was kind of fun to hear the #mumblechatter rise as he rolled up. Any PAX who had dreams of etching their name on the trophy are always welcome to sign YHC’s ankle.
4. Remember our brother @Olive as he lost his 8 year old daughter last week. As someone who knows a little bit about stuff like this your prayers and presence means more than you know. Find him on Twitter today at @F3_Olive and let him know his brothers @Highlands are standing with him.
5. Options for #downPAINments are plentiful this coming Monday as Highlands hosts Mettle, Skywalker will do a little chickenfoot and El Dorado will start back at UNCC. All equally miserable in their own way, but they will all make you stronger.

Great work as usual @Alcatraz. I always look forward to this beatdown until I start doing all those merkins, at which point I wonder what I was thinking.
High point was when I realized that I was only one station behind @Thorn. Low point was when I realized that he was already on his fourth rotation and I was on my third.
Nice push today @Slappy, it was tough holding you off. @Col Mustard, thanks for wearing decent fitting shorts, as I was right behind you for most of the workout.
Welcome FNGs Sean and Adam. Hope you come back. It’s not always this difficult!
So, for what it’s worth, Winter Turkey would’ve been neck and neck with Spring Thorn. Definitely interesting the differences. Will be cool to see a whole year of data…
There is one additional option for Monday morning…I have the Q at Muthaship. Launching at 5:15 uptown. If you haven’t been, try it once, throw up, and come back again the next week.
Adam and Sean are pretty weak names for the FNGs… I work with Adam so was pumped to see him make it out to his first post but am anxious to hear his F3 name. Keep crushing Gents and take Frodo up on that offer to throw up at Muthaship.
