S.W.A.T. with an emphasis on the “S”
All All MECA BackblastsApril 4th, 2016
11 men found out the true meaning of S.W.A.T. today. For those who don’t know, S.W.A.T. stands for “SWINGING Weights At Tradition.” The format was simple, but brutal. After a disclaimer, warm-up mosey around the new parking lot, sprint back to COP, and a few warm-up exercises, we got to the Swinging Ladders:
- KB Swings & KB Curls 10:1 Ladder
- KB Swings & KB Skull Crushers 10:1 Ladder
- KB Swings & KB High Pulls 10:1 Ladder
- KB Swings & KB Pullovers 10:1 Ladder
- KB Swings & Burpees 10:1 Ladder
Every ladder consisted of 55 reps of each exercise. Grand total of 275 Kettlebell Swings! Well done, men!

Who the heck planned that sucky workout! 🙂 Strong work out there guys! And Brutus, thanks for sharing your story. I will definitely be listening more closely after that!
@ManDown- those swings sucked; my back will hate you the rest of the week! I bailed on one set & subbed high pulls & then you added them the next set so I didn’t have a modification & sure didn’t want to double up on high pulls!! @Gazebo called out my BS so I had to get back in line.
@ManDown & @Brutus- thanks for sharing your stories this morning. Very inspirational & definitely a wake up call to heed the Voice when it speaks. (no, not talking about M’s voice either)
One of the hardest SWAT’s I have ever been to. Great job!
Is anyone else sore as snot today? Hams, glutes, back, shoulders, chest, even my forearms…all sore! No wonder they say swings are the single best kettlebell exercise!
