It’s a raccoon, it’s a deer, it’s…. Alcatraz?

All All MECA Backblasts

14 of MeCa’s finest posted for a Highlands beatdown.  By looking at the PAX, it was hard to tell what the weather was like.  We saw some with face masks and some in shorts & short sleeves.  There is a theory floating around that @Derby has removed all the weights from his vest and replaced them with hand warmers.  After a (sort of) disclaimer that should have included something about uneven sidewalks, we were off.

Mosey to the Clubhouse (yes, I know it’s not cruise day)

Part 2:

10 (impromptu) muscle ups on the wall then mosey back to home base for Mary.

  1. I had no clue what that ruckus was during the warm up.  My first though was that we disturbed a herd of deer and they were about to establish dominance.  Thanks for shaking things up for us today @Alcatraz.
  2. @Dodger was unable to dodge the uneven slab of sidewalk on the mosey back to the parking lot and went down.  I didn’t see it, but it sounded rough.  Hope your arm heals up quick brother.
  3. Thanks for following along this morning.  I am continually grateful for this group of men and the impact you have had in my life.
  4. We need people to step up and lead some workouts.  There are way too many black spaces on sign up genius.  Let’s fill them up!  Click here for Highlands and here for Skywalker.

  1. @Grinder, thanks for leading us today. I appreciate you letting us do the manly “Pat-A-Cake” Merkins instead of the much more dainty “Patty Cake” ones.

@Alcatraz my heart is still racing 3 1/2 hours later. Holy crap what an entrance!

@Dodger thanks for partnering up. Get well soon. That was a pretty nasty tumble.

  2. The workout was horrible and that is exactly as it should be. Great lead @Grinder!

When you run as slow as I do, you have lots of time to consider your options. As I entered the Clubhouse parking lot, I noticed the bushes directly between me and the PAX had a fair amount of space between them at their roots. I couldn’t tell if the bushes were of the prickly variety or not. But since I’ve never been accused of being the sharpest tool in the shed and I concluded it might just be worth it. Seeing @Ironhide’s face confirmed my reckless thoughts.

    Thanks @Chopper for partnering up!

  3. Nice lead and BB Grinder. Great pace and no wasted time. Thanks for the Q reminder also. Timely and appropriate.

  4. It was interesting hearing about Chopper’s recent trip to the chicken auction. Ever wonder how much a live chicken goes for at auction? Turns out, it’s about $7.50. Who knew?!

  5. Anybody know what it costs to raise a chicken that sells for $7.50? Just curious.

    1. Chicken = $7.50
      Chicken feed a week = $7.50
Being able to call yourself a chicken farmer = priceless

  6. He needs to bring them tomorrow for a chicken-chasing speed workout. I’d post for that!
