I Know a Place Where…
All All MECA BackblastsFebruary 11th, 2016
4 Lakers and this Traditioner forewent the fartsack, braved the elements, and posted for a frigid mini-cruise with a few excercises thrown in. Shockingly, after a few fartsacks during the past two weeks, YHC was up bright and early and arrived 15 minutes early and got some stretching in. At 0528, there were no other life forms and I thought I was going to be imposing a beatdown on myself. Fortunately, Point Break, Back Cracker, and Piston rolled in to join me. The Farm decided to grace us with his presence as we were leaving the parking lot at 5:31:30 #somethingsneverchange. It was damn cold this morning and Point Break was wearing shorts again. You’re nuts man!
Here’s how things went. Nice long mosey to the DL Harris Teeter lot. Stop half way and plank while the six caught up. Finish mosey to HT lot for warm-o-rama. A few of us tried to do a few muscle ups while waiting for the six, but the debris at the bottom of the wall wasn’t safe.

Was planning to mosey back to DL parking lot, but Piston said “I know a place where we can do muscle ups.” YHC spotted some benches and a brick wall nearby so we stopped here for 10 step ups each leg, 10 incline mericans, and 20 dips. REPEATO. Piston proclaimed his love for YHC saying “I’ve always liked you Buckwheat” until now….. Mosey back behind UPS Store for 10 muscle ups on a nice, high wall. Piston openly questioned why he opened his mouth about this wall.
Mosey back to DL lot. Stop at top of HT lot for AMRAP Air Squats until six catches up. Continue mosey and stopped by daycare for a 1-5 Jack Webb ladder while waiting for the six. Six arrives and does 5 mericans and 5 air presses. Back Cracker was just standing around this point and was called out by the Farm for “Whiskey Dicking.” Continue mosey back to DL and the Hill of Darkness. During the last leg of the mosey, The Farm pointed out here that YHC was actually holding a conversation while running. Wait, WHAAAAAT?? The cruises I’ve been doing are helping indeed :-)!
Arrive at the Hill of Darkness. This is an under utilized, steep hill. We put a little work in on it today though! The Farm
At the bottom of the hill do 10 mericans, 10 air squats, 10 CDD’s, and 10 Bobby Hurleys. Run to top of hill for 10 LBC’s, 10 W’s, 10 Pretzel Crunch (each side), and 10 squirms. REPEATO, adding 2 reps to each exercise at both the bottom and top of the hill. We ended up completing three rounds of this and got through 14 reps of each exercise on the last set. Mosey to DL main lot for MARY, err a 5-1 Jack Webb ladder. What goes up must come down and we did plenty of MARY while running the Hill of Darkness. AND, we’re done!

1) Thanks for joining me this morning, men. As always, it was a pleasure leading. The fartsack is tough to exit on cold mornings. I know that for a fact as it’s happened to me a few times the past two weeks…
2) My main goal today was to keep us moving in order to stay warm, thus a lot of running. Sorry Piston and Back Cracker ;-).
3) Do the pax need to pitch in and buy you some workout pants, Point Break?
4) Point Break, you should definitely do a cruise sometime. You’d do fine and enjoy it!
5) The Farm….. Well, I don’t have much to say about you other than you’re KILLING the HEC and posting 6-7 times/week right now. Well done, brother!

Solid beatdown Buckwheat! It looks like you started a thought up there without finishing so I’ll add what I think you were going to say.
“The Farm immediately recognized this part of the workout from previous Buckwheat beatdowns and cursed me immediately.”
@KJ clued me into what #whiskeydicking is (consult the lexicon). If you hear it being called in a workout, identify the culprit and give him a hard time for not modifying as needed! We all have varying abilities but can all try to do SOMETHING.
Good job to all for posting in the cold and I found my UNC hoodie when I got home. I’ll save it for Buckwheat’s next Q.
Also thanks for the HEC nod. 90% of the credit goes to my amazing M. She knows the guidelines and preps food that meet the criteria. I just eat it!
