All All MECA BackblastsJanuary 8th, 2016
7 8 Pax profited under a plethora of pre-historic KB punishments in the primary hours of this present day.
CAPRI LAP
(after all it’s in the Lexicon, we gotta use it)
- SSH x 20IC
- HillBillies x 15IC
- WindMills x 10IC
- All hands Mosey to retrieve the blocks from Old Deere John (empty hands do litter control)
THE MAIN THANG
Weighted Carry Pyramid Ladder
- OH carry either 1 block or 2 bells 50 yds
- 1 bell / block merkin
- OH carry same burden to start
- 1 OH Squat
- repeato, increasing reps by 1 till 5 reps
repeato, decreasing reps by 1 till 1 rep
Landmine Squat Challenge
(description as follows)
- A pax loads the lever with as many bells as they desire (mixing the poison)
- The same pax then takes said poison, (squats (ATG) the weighted lever to as many reps as possible,) (Meanwhile, the PAX circle performs a Merkin (or equal) for each squat rep)
- Then all pax perform called KB exercise to rep count = number of squats x number of bells on the lever.
- Chum (demo-mode) – 2 bells x 10 squats = 20 KB swings
- Swiss Miss (demo-mode) – 3 bells x 7 squats = 21 alternating KB swings
- 10-key (climb on) – 4 bells x 9 squats = 36 KB swings
- Capri (beast-mode) – 7 bells x 5 squats = 35 Russian twists
- Blue Crush (beast-mode) – 6 bells x 6 squats = 36 racked Squats
- Flashdance (rookie mode) – 2 bells x 10 squats = 20 KB Cleans
- Steamboat Willie (rookie mode) – 2 bells x 11 squats = 22 KB Luganis
- Tough Skins (final push) – 4 bells x 6 reps = 24 KB lawn mowers

- 2min stretch routine
COT
NM
YHC rolled up on site to find no one waiting on him. Maybe that’s because he rolled in a 0510. Gotta check that alarm clock thingy. Then the pax started rolling in. First flashdance, then Tough Skins, Swiss Miss and so on, till the appearance of Capri during his lap.
- Great to see the new guys coming to a gear site. Always glad to have fresh blood in the mix
- TCLAPS to Flashdance for making the trip from FM.
- YHC has yet to see the downside of his pyramids. Time typically kills that side as it did today.
- This morning’s balmy temps convinced the Capri show to un-don some layers. Beast-mode got sweaty in the balmy chill.
- great to see guys piling on the bells during the challenge. Great way to test menhood.
All Glory to God. Thanks again for allowing YHC to lead the PAX today. Always an honor. You too are freed to lead
AYE!

Nice Q! That 2×4 thingy needs to be disassembled and used somewhere else as something less painful.
Not sure if I’ve mentioned this, but there’s a 5k/10k down in SC Saturday. I’m thinking about going. Anybody want to clown car? Just thought I’d throw that out there. Last time I’ll ask – promise. 🙂
So, aren’t you running in it? Or are you running away from it?
I’m running in it. Just wanted to take one last jab before tomorrow.
I had the hardest time showering and dressing for work: couldn’t lift my arms. Thank goodness I can let them hang at my sides as I type. What a painful way to get back into the KB swing of things after a two-week break.
Oh, and that’s not a 50-yard distance. When carrying weight, all distance is doubled. Tripled if there is an incline. (special relativity – Google it if you doubt)
Driving in to work this morning my shoulders started burning from all the OH & merkin work. I think most of us were groaning a bit more this morning post-workout.
Just glad to be a part of it.
I agree with Swiss Miss. My arms sure are heavy today. Can’t figure out why.
