Bricks & Mortar, Big Tires and Uh…Burpees

All All MECA Backblasts

December 16th, 2015 By Dutch

7, no 8, no 9 Pax showed for brisk morning beatdown

Disclaimer – and a short spiel about no running… then we commenced to do a little Dutch mosey toward the heavy earth movers and new parking lot area…ooooh big trucks, YHC likey…

Uh Warmorama- SSH,CP’s, MC’s, Low slow merks, and arm circles – and somewhere in the miX Dingo and his merry band of “Exercise Routine” disrupters decided it was a fine time to insert some burpees on their own… Had I not mentally prepared for the potential disruptive  behavour YHC may have been thrown off his A game- but with the focus and intensity of the remaining pax we powered through and all but ignored the  “burpee buddies”… once warmorama was over….

10 burpees – YHC doesn’t believe in Burpees for the warm up or cool down.

Brick and Mortar – Partner up –  Each pax grabs 2 bricks – where P1 does 20 step ups on the pik-I- nic tables and P2 does Peoples Chairon the mortar wall of the church entrance  – with  bricks. 3 rounds- with your brick: air presses, Chainbreakers, extended arm raises. Oddly enough the burpee buddies continued to exhibit disruptive behavior – seemingly in a random nature, as out of the blue they just began doing burpees. Odd sort, but being led by @Dingo, I figured it was just his normal behavioral disorder – being closely followed by the farm and Guiness. Oh well – perhaps they are off in their own little burpee world… Let the exercise program continue…

Big Tires and uh Burpee buddies, and alas the disruptive behavior was (somewhat) squelched, but plenty of mumble stilled ensued.

Drop bricks off near the 40′ container and partner up in groups of 3 for Big tire flips and burpees- from one side of the pkg lot to the other.P1 flips tire, P2 Burpee, P3 Burpee. About this time, YHC cracked the code of the burpee

At the end of the lot – Partners Tire lifts – Chest press,Curls, high pulls and squats x10 each – repeato inserting 3 bricks inside the tire… repeato again inserting the other 3 bricks inside the tire…. oh yeah – do 10 burpees between each set. One group enjoyed the farm’s partner involvement and he  demonstrated his curb appeal to the pax. He performed admirably.

Partner tire flip/burpees – back to the starting end of the parking lot.

circle up for MARY – Promoting invigoration of male leadership, YHC had some of our newest or returning Pax – lead some  MARY – King Louie, Skyline and Axe Effect – all heading toward their own Q’s one day soon… maybe if Dingo and Jelly lighten up on their Q schedules these guys can get a slot…. wait for it… wait for it… response and rebuttals coming soon I am certain….;).

Disruptive moleskin-

Great fun and workout by all – thanks for the opportunity to inflict some pain and provide some comedic material for a few of the pax… you know who you are.

It’s a great day to have a great day! We are blessed to be a blessing…  seek out ways to show the LOVE of Christ today and the PEACE that only He can give.

  1. That was a tough workout and the burpees did not help. Thanks to @Trail Mix who broke the code and made sure we got some extra credit even though I think he did it more for his amusement.

I’m thinking those burpees would’ve been much easier if we all had mats. What do you think @Dutch?

Also guess who was late this morning? #notme

    1. Definitely easier with mats. For a #jillianworshipper

  2. Ah yes. Great exercise routine @dutch. It is not everybody who can lead an exercise routine as tough as your’s was, push through the disruptive burpee buddies – (talk about overachievers!) and provide the stand-up comedy you do! Excellent! and excellent was to start the day. Thank you.

  3. @Dutch, Great beatdown. You definitely weren’t thrown off your game despite those burpee buddy troublemakers. By the way, it seems like there was an FNG no-show?

  4. Sounds like I missed a fun morning.

  5. yes – a no show – but he contacted me looking for an excused absence. He was doing sermon prep and needed the extra sleep time apparently… a likely story from them pastor types…. We will catch him soon… think of an F3 name for Brent Jones.

    1. When I think of Brent Jones, I think of U2.

I especially remember the day he came late to the Discover Stonebridge class and “accidentally” left on his screensaver of U2 tour and travel pics!

      1. Agreed, Bono or the Edge would be natural choices.

        1. Their songs give endless options!

          Desire
          Vertigo
          Harlem
          Babyface
          The Real Thing
          Flower Child

  6. Jelly – you did miss a fun one… no Jelly lubing today, but you were in conversation revolving around the LJ phenomenon you created and often perform, so you’ve got that going for you!

    1. “often perform?” You make one excuse over a year ago and it never goes away.

      Grrrr

Although, you still have to deal with the Jillian Michaels stuff, so it’s cool.

      1. what is the “LJ phenomenon”?

        1. oops sorry… or should I say… Uuuuh sorry – LJ should be JL – short for JellyLube – I guess we could change it to LJ – Lube of Jelly… but that possibly be could be misconstrued with less than honorable responses by this group…

          1. “Lube of Jelly”

That’s hilarious Dutch. First you talk about your stamina. Now you’re talking about lube of jelly. I’m learning more and more about you.

  7. Farm – mats…? I just figured if they were good enough for Jillian they were good enough for us – boy was I wrong- #neverliveitdown.

  8. Solid Beatdown Dutch. The tire flip burpees were awesomely awful!

  9. @Dutch (aka @Jillian), Nice program this morning. I like the idea of bringing mats to the program and some soothing background music..

  10. … The mats will help protect us against the oily ground and protect our shirts especially when we do the squirm.

  11. I’m just trilled that I’m finally able to login! Woot woot!
