Mumblechatter and burpees

All All MECA Backblasts

December 3rd, 2015 By Forgotten Jelly

16 men came together at Tradition on this cool, crisp morning. YHC gave a less than enthusiastic the disclaimer and the mumblechatter began. Here’s what we did:

Warmup
– Mosey to back parking lot
– SSH x 15
– IST x 15
– Cotton Pickers x 15

The Thang
– Partner up and grab a tire
– 5 burpees OYO

YHC confused the PAX at this point because I miscounted the number of people, which led to even more mumblechatter. Funny how that died off when we started this part of the workout.

– Two laps around the back parking lot. One partner did burpees while the other partner did tire flips. 5 burpees for lap 1, 10 burpees for lap 2

– At this point we had about 75 burpees. Put up the tires and moved on.

– Mosey to church for WWII situps x 20 and 5 burpees OYO
– Mosey to corner of parking lot for LBCs x 20 and 5 burpees OYO
– Mosey back to tires for pretzel crunch x 10 and 10 burpees OYO
– Mosey to flag for 5 burpees OYO and homer to marge.
– Mosey to corner of parking lot for 2 rounds of suicides.
– Mosey back to flag for 5 burpees OYO and PAX led Mary

Moleskin
– Nice work this morning guys. I had a different one planned out, but I really wanted to get in the tires. Glad we did it.
– I counted 105 burpees for me. I know that Dingo reached 150 and Gazebo 140. Impressive work men.
– Good to see Bluebird and Amoeba out there today. Thanks for joining us.
– Party is Saturday night. It will be a lot of fun. Go here to sign up.
– Sign up here for the Run Run Rudolph 5k Saturday morning. I know at least Dingo and I are doing it.

  1. Nice work this morning. Sound off below

  2. Jelly GREAT beatdown this morning! Way to challenge the Pax with lack of enthusiasm!

Team Maximus really really smoked the tire flip and burpees. Oh wait a minute I was on that team!

I like Buckwheat after he drinks a monster in the morning!

  3. It looks like a great beatdown was had by all. Sorry I missed it @Forgotten Jelly. I was burpeeing at The Precinct. You set a high enthusiasm bar @Major Pain and I am impressed by your humility regarding Team Maximus.

  4. Very impressed by all. @forgottenjelly – great lead and receptivity to pick up your enthusiasm as noted by several pax. @majorpain – man you were smoking doing the tire flips – I had to pick it up so as not to lose the pace you set. Great stuff for team 111 years old! Appreciate your noting that to the Pax. Also @majorpain I am impressed you are reading and even commenting on the backblasts! You are a young man and as time passes perhaps soon you’ll be sharing with us what you ate for breakfast! I can see it now; the Major relaxing at home after an F3 beatdown with coffee and a bannana with the highlight of his day being reading the F3 backblast and sharing with the Pax what he is eating.

  5. Maximus I will give you a peek inside now:

3 eggs, slice of American cheese, 1 cup of oatmeal and a hot cup of lipton back tea. I have never had a cup of coffee in my life.

    Great job this morning!

@Guinness, in case you haven’t noticed I am a very humble man

  6. @Major Pain, I did a wiki on Humility and a picture of you came up. Why am I not surprised?

  7. Good lead Jelly. Tire flip/ burpee was a good one!

We do need to work on your enthusiasm though! When you are not the Q, you are giggling, talking, etc when you are the Q, it’s like you popped a bottle of Valium! Maybe @buckwheat will share his monster with you next time!

Gazebo – thanks for partnering and pushing me with those burpees!

Great to see a couple of D.Lakers make the trip over!

    1. Geez…I haven’t slept much in days, hence the lack of enthusiasm. But I was still out there and ready to lead.

      1. Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage

        1. Ok Billy Corgan

      2. 100 burpees should do the trick to a) raise enthusiasm and b) help you sleep!

  8. Great beat down Jelly!! I feel great, mainly because I know I don’t have to burpeees when I get home from work. Good job.

Dingo- thank you for putting us over the 100 mark!!

And I want whatever Buckwheat had this morning!! Buckwheat Mode!!

  9. @forgottenjelly – way to lead even though you were tired. Hope you get rest soon.

@majorpain – thx for the peek at your breakfast. Very healthy for a young man like yourself – portion control, carbs and anti-cholesterol with the oatmeal, protein with the eggs and cheese, tea versus coffee.

  10. After reading all this – and I can’t believe I am actually saying this – I am qing tomorrow and will need to incorporate more burpees into the kbell q!

    1. YES!!!!!!!!

  11. There is a direct correlation to the number of burpees on the tire roll circuit & the size of the tire used. All the front runners were using the skinny (lighter) but larger diameter ones……we were short 6″ per flip….that’s 2.5′ per changeover…so…..THAT explains why @Dingo, @Gazebo, @Innkeeper & yours truly were so far behind since we used the wider (heavier) but smaller diameter treads. That & we din’t ROLL ours like the aforementioned relics!!

@Buckwheat- to beat you to it……yes, size matters & that’s what she said!!!

@ForgottenJelly- enjoyed this morning, thanks for leading.

    1. Um….Pongo and I didn’t roll our tire. Rest of your comment makes sense

  12. @Maximus, do you think he means us??

we din’t ROLL ours like the aforementioned relics!!

Young bucks tried to smoke us, I will give them credit. When they gonna learn you can’t smoke a rock!

  13. What?? Relics??

I’ve heard it all.. The Dog ate my homework. I dropped my Iphone/Ipad in the toilet. I had am versus pm on my alarm clock. I got a flat tire. I have a headache. I’m using a 15 pound kettlebell because I only weigh 150 pounds (@thefarm). Now my tire was too wide, heavy and too many treads??? It’s called EXCUSES!

I saw you with my own eyes @majorpain – you were into it – flipping that tire, giving it your all, using your superior knowledge of geometry to out-position the Young’ns on turn 1, recovering from the lack of direction from the Q (though we understand now @jelly was short on sleep)and confusion at the end of lap 1 when we stopped, giving up our lead, thinking the event was over to retake the lead on lap 2.

Little did I know at the time @majorpain you prepare with a spartan diet of eggs, Lipton tea and gruel – all the while the young’ns eat pastry, and donuts and pop-tarts and sugared cereals – and give half efforts at beatdowns if not being individually timed, show up at 5:33 for a 5:30 beatdown etc. etc. etc.

Such disrespect for our team and age. As far as the Young’ns EXCUSES – in the words of my generation…. “We won’t be fooled again!!!”

    1. @Buckwheat – did you give @maximus a monster??!!

    2. How the heck did me and my KB get dragged into this?! By the way, 30 lb KB and 145 body weight =21% of body weight.

  14. @thefarm – was just testing to see if you were paying attention. Good read and response. Glad you have moved up to a 30 pound bell. Congratulations!
