With assistance from Bagheera, index cards prepared for returning testers to show prior test results, incentive always helps.  Pair up and take turns doing the Army situp, bent knee no greater than 90 degrees, hands clasped behind head, rest only in the upright position.  Max reps in 2 minutes.  Switch-a-roo.  Army pushups altogether, upper arms parallel to ground on the descent, chest/belly touch to ground not required but as Stretchy pointed out, that may occur prior to upper arms reaching parallel.  Very good.

2 mile run followed with all pax starting together.  Run through parking lot, down street to Harris Rd Middle School track, 4 laps and then return.  Great morning for a run.

Victory tunnel planks, courtesy of Pox, Mason Twist by who else, Marie Callendar, and some LBCs.  Finish off with box cutters before Q realized we were in overtime!

Thanks to all for participating.  I’d like to say I improved some, but hey, there’s always next time.  Let us always be thankful for those who’ve served our country in its defense

  1. Some very stout numbers there, Pax.

    1. Awesome job guys. I sure miss you all. Encouraged by the FNGs attending. Hoping to rejoin you all soon in the gloom

  2. Lots of fun Schnitzel, scorecards were clear encouragement to push it up a notch. However, I was still in Sparknut’s rear view mirror, I’m just glad I didn’t get lapped on the track by him and Bagheera.

  3. Wow! Great numbers indeed! Looks like a fine workout @Schnitzel, sorry I missed it. Trying to take it easy on my lower abs so I figured I’d pass this time and rest up.

    Welcome FNG Delbert!! See next Tuesday! Also welcome to the PAX Trapper Keeper! Awesome name!

    Un-official date for the Highlands/Skywalker/Rolling Stone Christmas party is Friday, December 11th. Should be a fun time!! Stay tuned for official announcement coming soon!

    1. BTW @Schnitzel, please tell me you were wearing the weighted vest so you weren’t totally dusted by a teenager!!!

      1. Sorry, meant @Sparknut!!!

        1. That hurts Sugar! When’s the next PFT? I’ve got to start training for the next run now.

          @Bagheera – Nice job on the run – no way I was going to catch you.

          @Three – You left it all on the sidewalk! Hang in there bro. If ya’ll missed it, he took a fall and hurt a rib. Please pray for him.

          @Schnitzel – Thanks for you leadership on the PFT. It’s great to have a benchmark to measure progress.

          All of you guys are doing a great job out there. Let’s keep pushing each other!

  4. @Sugar – Only vest I wear is internal, weighted with Hershey bars thanks to post-halloween indulgence.

  5. My overall score, assuming I were a young whipper-snapper of 41 with endless energy and abs of iron, was a 38+76+75 = 189. It passes the minimum of 150 but I fell short in my situp count. I would have needed 36 reps to pull out the minimum of 50. Over hill over dale…

    1. Sorry for the sloppy hand writing. I couldn’t hold my hand steady after all of that. My time was 15:08.

      1. Well done, Sparknut. Only thing sloppier than your handwriting was me thinking that a timestamp of 68 seconds made any sense. I think I typed that up before my coffee. By the way, honorable mention to Mr. Sparknut for his improvement from 1st time. Situps increased from 57 to 64 and pushups increased from 76 to 94, but it came at a cost of 16 seconds off his run time. Slowing down, next thing you know…

        1. Next thing you know..I don’t know and I don’t think I want to. Haha

  6. @Loco – Where are you at? Yep, I called you out.

    1. Nothin’ but love

    2. @Sparknut – sadly I was up, dressed, and ready to roll when I took a step in a wrong direction in my kitchen and my knee popped. Walking up the stairs didn’t feel so hot so I opted for a rest day since I knew it was going to be a day of hurt. I’ll be out there on 11/17 barring no more injuries…

      1. @Loco -Sorry about the knee. I hope it doesn’t mess you up long term. I’m starting to get paranoid about injuries with as many as we’ve had lately.
        @”3″- broken rib
        @Hula- tweaked knee.
        Hang in there brothers and take care of yourselves. I’ll be praying for quick recoveries.

        -See you dudes in the gloom.
        -It’d be nice to some of you “old timers”
        @Kato
        @MatressKing

        1. @mattress King is on ir too I believe. Torn bicep.

  7. I’d be remise to leave out a few dramatic increases. Fratelli did 11 more situps and 8 more pushups and cutoff 7 seconds off his time! Pox’s run time was 49 seconds faster!

    1. Great growth Fratelli and Pox!

  8. Great job fratelli!!!!!!
    Hang in there 3. You kept pushing even after the graceful fall.

    Welcome to trapper keeper and my buddy delvin. Great to have you

    And it was really cool to have the guys from the grand strand!

  9. Also thinking of rolling stone hosting an f3 dads. You guys game?

    1. @Waterboy – I’m for it

  10. Well according to sources and fellow firefighter/ paramedic… It’s a broken rib and a flesh wound on the knee. Not much that can be done for either but we just bite the lip and push through it. Thanks to everyone for the concerns and thoughts and thanks to water boy and fratelli for hanging with me to make sure I survived the fall under the one light on the trip to the track!! . Hopefully recovery will be speedy and I can be back up and running soon. Don’t want to fall off the wagon lol

  11. @3 you were a trooper to get through it! If you need anything while laid up, let me know.
    @Waterboy/@Fratelli – Tclaps for hanging with an injured brother.
