No Weinke, No Problem!
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 10th, 2015
7 Lakers made their best decision of the day and showed up at the Davis Lake clubhouse for YHC’s first full non-Weinke bootcamp Q. Weather conditions were better than the past few days, but still sucked as it was chilly with a light drizzle that tapered off right at the end of the beatdown. Man it is good to see the sun this morning. I was beginning to think we were in Seattle.
@Preamble was first to arrive in the parking lot, followed by YHC and then @Piston. As usual, @The Farm showed up at 5:30:05 with @The Hop pulling in just a few seconds before him. Pre-beatdown chatter was good as @Preamble mentioned possible merlot spillage after not posting in a while. @Piston asked if I was Q’ing and cheered loudly when I responded in the affirmative. Just kidding, he wasn’t very happy but didn’t voice too much displeasure, at least in front of me. Just for you @Piston, I had no plan and no Weinke today. There was no tunnel of love and no partner carries, two of @Piston’s favorites. Here’s how things transpired as best I can remember without a Weinke:
Mosey to far end of parking lot with high knees, Stoli skips, and toy soldiers. Circle up for warm-o-rama.

Partner up and one group of three and do the following as a team:
75 burpees, 150 air squats, 300 LBC’s. One partner does the exercise while the other runs to the second tree and back and picks up where there partner left off. The Pax was allowed to decide how many extra reps the group of three had to do and the consensus was 25. So, we did 100 burpees, 175 air squats, and 325 LBC’s. As punishment for finishing quickly, the group of three had to help the other teams complete their reps. @Piston didn’t want any help and @Point Break requested a redo was we mainly helped with LBC’s and not the burpees. There was no particular order given by the Q, so you could’ve ended with those. OOPS!
Mosey to the playground.
SSH X20IC
10 Swirkins, 10 step ups each leg, 20 dips. Repeato X3.
Mosey to the main road. @Piston didn’t like the direction YHC was taking us, so I decided to turn us around and incorporate an Indian run with a two air squat special at the back, up the main street and back around to the far corner of the parking lot. Here’s where things took a turn for the worse. YHC, being the first to arrive wisely chose one of very dry spots on the concrete. Perk of being the Q. @The Farm and @Piston started whining, so I offered my dry spot to @The Farm. Knowing he wouldn’t hear the end of it if he took me up on this offer, @The Farm wisely chose to get on his six in a wet spot. At this moment, we learned that @Piston doesn’t like it wet….

Soggy Moleskin:
1) Very little mumble chatter today, except when YHC mentioned something about 75 burpees…
2) Strong work by all, especially @The Hop and @The Farm during the team event.
3) Way to keep pushing yourselves today @Piston, @Preamble, and @Back Cracker!
4) @Point Break was working hard and pretty quiet today. That is until I mentioned the term Indian Run…..
5) Piston likes it dry. It’s a good thing there was no merlot spillage from @Preamble.
6) YHC likes it wet.
7) @Preamble. My 2.1 (3.5 years old) came home from pre-school yesterday and recited your namesake completely out of the blue. I just had to take a video of it at the dinner table. I think the Q’s watch is broken. I arrived at 5:29:30 aka #rightontime. Would’ve been there a few minutes early, but didn’t want to pull a Dingo. #zeroaccidentsattheAO
Very true about the dry spot. That parking lot was gross but I had to man up out of fear of future mumblechatter.
HA. I was using FitBit time. Glad you made duty at home and not the AO. Not sure I could handle that two days in a row..
Also solid beatdown Buckwheat! Starting off with all those burpees was unexpected and unwelcomed…but we did it anyway. Thanks for the Q!
Anytime, brother. Love your AO!
Buckwheat, thanks for a good beatdown. I’m feeling in my quads and hammies today after a gazillion #AirSquats and #StepUps. Love the 2.0 patriotism in reciting the #PreAmble – nicely done!
Solid Buckwheat, not sure how I got called out so frequently though, I had little time for mumble chatter what with trying to breath and what not!!
I really am getting tired of wet parking lots though!!
