Seven Harrisburg men met at the Harrisburg Family Restaurant for some 3rd F to start the week. Not everyone had bacon We started out with Acts 8:26-31….about a well-to-do traveling Ethiopian man who showed he was not above asking for help, when he invited Philip into his carriage to explain the writings of the prophet Isaiah to him. We can take a lesson from this humble man and not let our manly pride get in the way of asking for help when we need it. Most folks really enjoy helping others when they know person on the receiving end is appreciative of the help.
We had a lot of valuable discussion, and also consensus that F3Nation is a brotherhood that the Pax can lean on for help and support well beyond the 3 Fs. We closed with more wisdom about asking, seeking, and knocking from The Man himself, in Matthews 7:7-12
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Thanks, men, for the ‘help’ in getting the week off on the right foot.
Have a 3F Week!
