22 men got better this morning at Muthaship Monday.  This is what we did.

The Thang:

From the Capt. Jack lot, we run to the Target/SharkTank Deck (down Kings Drive to intersection with Charlottetown), 10x Makhtar N’Diayes before you run up the stairwell, run to the middle of the top deck for 10x x-fit/hand release burpees, run down opposite stairwell and run back to the first stairwell…repeato x2 (3 trips up/down deck, 30 MNDs, 30 burpees).

Run out of Target Deck, right onto the Greenway (behind Wendy’s), take left onto Elizabeth Ave./Trade St., right on Caldwell and run to the Muthaship Deck…3x up the Dizzy Back/down the opposite stairwell, 10x Makhtar N’Diayes before running up the spiral and 10x x-fit/hand release burpees in the middle of the top deck (3 trips up/down deck, 30 MNDs, 30 burpees).

Run out back of the Muthaship down 6th Street, left on McDowell, right on 7th to the Castle/Ranger-YG Deck, 3x up the first stairwell/down the opposite stairwell (on 7th Street), 10x Makhtar N’Diayes before running up the first stairwell and 10x x-fit/hand release burpees in the middle of the top deck (3 trips up/down deck, 30 MNDs, 30 burpees).

Exit Castle, and run down Charlottetowne, down Elizabeth Ave. back to Kings and home base…

If you finish the Triple T early, then you run 3x trips down/up the Lizzy Lurker, 10x MNDs at the top, 10 burpees at the bottom before heading home.

Back to home base by 6:15-ish.

Naked Moleskin.

Triple T:  Keeper.  YHC thought that was a nice addition to the Muthaship portfolio.  Lots of ground covered (5.4 miles according to my Strava), lots of decks/hills, lots of MNDs/burpees (90-120).  Maybe we can tweak it next time for the AAA group to hit each deck x4?  #harbinger

You vs. You…vs. Google Maps.  The paths taken to and from the various decks were, shall we say, divergent.  Directions were taken as an invitation, not an obligation.  #freestyle

Some variations were better than others as a couple of folks said they made wrong turns out of the Target and Castle decks.  That said, nobody appeared to get too worked up about it—though we did lose Fishwrap at some point.  He arrived with earbuds on and said he thought he would be solo for most of the time.  Saw him near the Wendy’s post-Target deck but that was it…hope you made it home, brother!

#Smokeboots.  T-claps to Indian Hill and Cindy who lit up the course and were waaaaaay out in front by the 2nd loop of the Muthaship.  #winning  Too bad they didn’t read the preblast, or listen to the pre-launch huddle apparently, as they missed the Lizzy Lurker “extra credit” and arrived back at home base just after 6:00.  #best45minuteperformance…ever  Both were slouched on one of the stone walls in the parking lot when Swamp, TML and I rolled in.  Hopefully, they were able to get in a few more MNDs and burpees.  More likely, they were just trading stories of #BustedPaw glory, high-fiving each other and wondering where the hell everyone else was.

#NoRespect.  EZ Rings apparently has no respect for the Muthaship, the Q or both as he ran in a weight vest (WTF?!) and an XL rain jacket that combined must have felt like 150 pounds and 150 degrees by the end of that workout.  Much respect for EZ and his safety vest, though:  you are a beast for enduring that.  EZ said he thought he was going to spill merlot at one point, though it wasn’t because of the workout or the weight vest – apparently, it was because some epic crop dusting by Turkey Leg within the confines of the Muthaship stairwell.  Now that is a true #ParadeofHorribles.

Thanks for the opportunity to run this circus, Ice-9 and FW.  Much appreciated.

  1. that was hideous

    1. #compliment

  2. That is actually a great mud run, spartan, etc. training course layout Lee. Only tweak might be to hit different body parts each time up a deck

2nd set at up Target add in suplines (10 under, 10 over) and donkey kicks/jump overs at the rails and 3rd set partner wheelbarrow up the stairs (each goes once).

2nd set at Muthaship dips at the bottom, derkins up top. 3rd set jump ups at the bottom, diamonds up top

2nd set at Castle flutters at the bottom, partner carry up, drydocks up top. 3rd set peter parkers off the wall at the bottom, run up, wide arms up top.

10 pull-ups on the swingset on your way back to the parking lot through the park.

Should hit chest, back, tris, bis, shoulders, legs and 5+ miles.

    1. Just remembered where you launch from. Scratch the pull-ups. Not #YGs

      1. Great ideas, Shawshank…for a full Q-led workout at the Muthaship. (Um, email Ice-9 and FW to get on the schedule though…you’ve already got half your backblast typed out!)

Since most Muthaship Mondays are predetermined with a go-at-your-own-pace format (seriously, #youvsyou), there would be zero percent chance of the Pax remembering all those variations…though the #mumblechatter would be epic.

  3. That was a keeper. Even though it was basically ripped off. Fun none the less.

Old #southbeach proverb…Those that do extra credit, need it. #champverb

  4. Little slow commenting here but that was a beatdown. Great routine and no one was lost in the deck tour of town. Good variation from our monday routine lee.
