“I hate you and not in the best possible way”
All Harrisburg BackblastsJune 23rd, 2014
21 MECA Pax posted to a workout that YHC on the drive there wished he hadn’t preblasted as he knew it would be that awful.
What’s the hardest post in MECA/Isotope?
El Dorado
What is the hardest WIB in MECA/Isotope?
Sharknado
So why not put them together?
Run .9 Miles to El Dorado
15 Burpees
Run up and down Stairway to Heaven
20 Diamond Merkins
Run up and down Stairway to Heaven
20 WWII Situps
Run up and down Stairway to Heaven
20 Merkins
Run up and down Stairway to Heaven
20 Scorpion Dry Docks
Run up and down Stairway to Heaven
Repeat until 6:05
Run .9 Miles back to lot
-The original Sharknado is supposed to be 5 rounds with a 200 meter run instead of the stairs.
-I believe that @The Nanny was the Winner of the VT and reached the Situps of round 4 with @Frodo finishing the same amount but behind our winner, @Frodo provided the quote which is the title of today’s workout. Coming from the “Fastest man in the north” I consider that the highest of praise
-The leaders did 60 Burpees, 80 Diamond Merkins, 80 WW2 Situps, 60 Merkins and 60 Scorpion Dry Docks and 1782 stairs up and 1782 Stairs Down
-I believe there were a few that was an exercise behind
-Fantastic push by everyone @Deuce was crushing the stairs til the very end and even wore shorts and sneakers today
-By my count there were 5 shirts removed during the post which I think is a MECA record, Zero Merlots but I am pretty sure everyone considered it and there were scattered dry heaves
-I said it at COT this was as hard as you will get outside of Muthaship and I mean it, we put in SERIOUS work morning
-The sweat loss was off the charts. I consumed probably 30 oz of liquid after my morning weigh in and was over 4 lbs down still

I knew this El Dorado was going to be bad when I walked outside and I could cut the air with a knife it was so thick. I was wrong – it wasn’t bad – it was horrible. But glad I posted anyway
Glad 21 others came out to push each other. I will say the encouragement to one another really helps you push through even when you want to quit.
BTW – I keep thinking the steps will get easier each week but they don’t – they are awful! And can you actually take some positive out of it when you watch the “endurance boys” (@Frodo, @Nanny, etc) actually start slowing down at the top of the steps too? At least I’m thinking “Hey they are feeling it too!”
Job well done by all the PAX!
@Winnebago as @The Nanny and I discussed the per last yesterday at the #redneckwaterpark I seriously contemplated a fartsack but knew I would hate myself for not attempting it. It did not disappoint and it sucked the whole time.
@Pax great effort by all and keep it up. El Dorado I know for a fact has taken my own personal fitness to a different level and can do the same for you if we stay consistent
@Frodo glad to see you pass me by and even more proud when I saw you slowing down some too…it was like “yes, he is human too” #alwaysstrong but we all still have limits
@The Nanny oh to be skinny and eat whatever I wanted and still perform like that at El Dorado…only you can pull that off
@Bootstrap your improvement in fitness has been obvious, El Dorado indeed breaks down mental barriers which cause us to plateau
@Frodo I think it is a good thing to have people celebrate when you are physically tested.
I have been saying for the longest time that the only limit to the Nanny’s performance is The Nanny, probably more so than any other Pax, good genetics on that one.
Hate @Stoli is still injured as he would have attacked this morning with a fierceness
Needless to say I was not happy this morning when I woke up late! I stood beside my bed saying a few choice words after the tardy wake and my M was trying to figure out what was going on. Oh nothing honey, just talking in my sleep while standing up. Dang it!
Looks like a good turn out. T-Claps to the PAX for posting and pushing through.
Colonel your absence was noted this would have been a great post for you. The stair traffic was never a problem if anything if you got stuck behind someone it was an opportunity to “rest” the bail out stations were used quite a bit.
Glad it went well brother. T-claps for putting this one together.
Winnebago, well done! Toughest F3 post I’ve made.
’nuff said
That was miserable, Winnebago. Usually, at the end of the “rinse and repeat” workouts, I think, “I could have done more. I could do more next time.” I don’t think that us the case thus morning….and I still couldn’t stay in front of @TheNanny.
Great push by the Pax. Amazed at @Duece @RedDawn that I saw running, skipping stairs at 44 minutes in. #Strong
The three flights of stairs to my office had me hanging on to the handrail to pull myself up..,and still had to stop once. Great beatdown! #KeepBringingIt
@winnebago – BRUTAL that was
@Winnebago, AWESOME brother! That was probably the hardest workout I’ve ever been a part of. I love El Dorado because it always takes you past your “limit” and beyond — you can always go faster, climb more stairs, do more exercises… Today was a beatdown of epic proportions. @Winnebago, after today I am motivated to keep pushing and grinding it out = sign of a great work out.
@Winnebago An evil creation. The downside was that it hurt in a major way…the upside was that b/c it hurt in a major way, it demanded a ton of focus to keep the merlot down, which made me lose track of time. I was SO glad to hear when you made the “final pain” call.
@Frodo As is every time we post at El Dorado together, you get me to push way harder than I would by myself. Today was definitely not an exception. Trying to catch up to you little by little required a serious effort. I found myself confronting the reality of seeing last night’s dinner again. I also journeyed to total body quiver and total body chills land. Props to Winnebago for creating the environment for that to happen.
@Swami It was great to see you back again this week. Not sure what it is about El Dorado and the exceptional amount of pain that it dishes out….yet we all love it and find ourselves excited to go to bed on Sunday night to see if we can handle it on Monday morning.
@Man Down I still am blown away by your ability to sprint up the stairs. I was considering the stairs an element to simply survive, not attack. I don’t think my body would allow me to do that without very uncomfortable consequences…. Way to go stud.
@Pavarotti Super impressed with your performance today. Guess I should not be surprised as you are a “vertical specialist.” I guess if it is a 10 ft gate or a 99 step climb – you own it.
@Chavez I guess after your no shower post last week no one asked what had died in your office? Great to see you back. I witnessed some serious cardio challenge and some serious mental focus on pushing yourself way beyond the comfort level. Glad you are out there to push the entire pax to give it all.
@Gamma A workout that pretty much focuses all the aerobic activity in a “straight up” orientation hits our full size pax harder than some of the skinny punks (and I am speaking of Frodo only of course). Bet you did not wake up thinking you would be climbing the Empire State Building by 6:15…. Way to go.
After reading all of your feedback, I sincerely appreciate you all taking the time comment, I am hereby classifying El Dorado as a Varsity/Double Black Diamond workout. I have spent the last several months in search of the hardest posts that F3 can offer on a near daily basis. These have been Muthaship 3 or 4 Times, Blender I think 5 times, Young Guns, Ranger twice, The Shark Tank (hour edition) 3 times. Of all these posts this morning and all the El Dorado mornings are in the top 3 you can find. Muthaship is the only one that with probably always be tougher and that is simply because of the AO, unless @Bogey Qs and makes us run with a kettlebell then we will be kings for a day.
The thing I love about El Dorado is everyone who posts knows it is going to be #PainCity, and that is why they come, to be forced to face themselves and see if they can push just a little bit further. Knowing that, the Q has the freedom to just bring it. Let’s keep pushing it, challenging the Qs, each other and ourselves to a higher level. If we are getting up that early might as well be worth it. It was a true sincere honor to run with you all this morning. #IronShapeningIron
after ready this post and only in a sick and twisted way does this make me want to get the needle in the back so i can come out and play.. but for now I will stick to non running workouts.. until then.
All I can say is that it’s going to be a scorcher Wednesday evening… #bringthepain only thing that can make this any worse is 91°
I was thinking today about why am I coming to this post regularly, it’s just a total beatdown. @Winnebago you’re right it’s that facing yourself and pushing a bit farther. I know that showing up and doing this is a challenge and that challenge is the whole point.
Great Job looking forward to next week.
@Deuce- Nice shoes
It is the day after, my calves are killing me, I’m reading this backblast and remembering how horrible it was, and yet I can’t help but look forward to next Monday. I think we’re all a little crazy; especially those of us who read the preblast and still came out.
For those who care- The shoes helped, but only because they are lighter. Surprisingly, the boots are just as comfortable.
None of the biking, running, or other beatdowns prepared my calves (which are still screaming)for those stairs. Probably not any one good way to get up there efficently, one step, two step… I knew it was bad when I looked forward to WWII Situps for recovery. Thanks for the beating.
It’s 21:07 the day AFTER El Dorado, and I’m still hobbling around. In fact, I think my calves hurt WORSE tonight than they did when I woke up this morning! I won’t be able to make El Dorado often (The M has become a committed MWF addition to FIA and I need to be at home with the 2.0s), but I will be there anytime I can!
