Proper Turkey Day Prep
All Afton BackblastsNovember 24th, 2021
YHC was excited to be back at the helm for a Turkey Day prep session. After a quick review of the beatdown YHC lead before Thanksgiving last year, it was clear that it must be repeated to ensure all of our newer Pax could experience some of the AO’s favorite tunes.
Yes, it was cold and dark, but that didn’t stop this group. The Pax showed up 14 strong to embrace the suck and cold… and also to be a part of the celebration for Lewis at the end.
It went something like this…
Warm-a-rama
No time to play around, so the pax did a quick mosey around the lot and headed across the street to the medical building. One quick lap around the building and we circled up on the back side with the 1st Selection: Rocky Theme Music providing a little extra motivation to get rolling.
5 Hurpees, SSHs x27 IC, Slap Jacks x15 IC, HBs x15 IC, Penny Pickers x10 IC, Wind Mills x10 IC, Mount Climbers x20 IC.

but I get up again” then PAX does a Burpee (26-ish burpes)

The Afton pax were asked to step up again this year for Operation Support Lewis, which has been a holiday tradition since the AO opened. A HUGE thank you to everyone for their generosity and also a BIG shout out to Zacchaeus on a job well done in heading up the project and providing a great F3 name idea. Our Dorton Park brother Lewis is now a honorary member of F3 Afton and will hence forth be know as GATOR!

Its hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already here. Thanksgiving week hopefully gives us all a chance to slow down a bit, spend time with friends and family, and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for in our lives. YHC has so much to be thankful for and yet way to often find myself taking it all for granted. My prayer for all of us this week, is that we take nothing for granted and that can all recognize all the good things in our lives. On my list of things to be mindful of this week, will definitely be this F3 group of men and how important you are to me and so many others in our community. Thank you for allowing me to lead this am!
