Man Down to the Rescue!
All Rolling Stone BackblastsJuly 5th, 2021
Seeing as many would be off work as Murica observes our Independence Day, YHC moved the workout to 0700 to get a bit more shut eye and maybe have somebody join him, unlike on Friday…
YHC arrives fairly early and Man Down is already rolling in from a little pre-run. Maybe we will get a crowd this morning. Alas, no, just MD and I…but much better than by yourself! Disclaimer given and we are off…
Warmarama: Typical run through the HT lot with side shuffles, Cariocas, high knees, butt kickers, lunges, etc. Then we circle, er, line up by the flag that is planted in a nice green area for SSH, ISTs, WMs, Tempo Squats, PPs.
The Thang: Simple and Sinister and an abbreviated HTL WOD
S&S: 100 Swings and 10 Turkish Get ups. No Rush.
HTL WOD; 10 Snatches, 10 Burpees over KB, Lap around lot, 3 rounds
Mary: LBCs, Flutters, American Hammers, Reverse Crunches
COT: Prayers for MD’s dad and my Fil (and our families) as navigating nursing facilities is difficult. Prayers from my 2.1 Goldbond, as he is off to Scout Camp as of yesterday and this is his first time away from home without parents.
Tomorrow is Pox’s 9 year anniversary Q….9 years!!
Moleskin: Thanks to Man Down as it would have been sorely disappointing going back to back workouts with no pax. I even had an alternate plan to head to Highlands if no pax showed, but am glad that was not necessary. Good conversation with MD about dealing with our aging parents and the struggles that come along with it. He had a great idea about writing a letter to the nursing facility that are caring for our loved ones to introduce them to those providing care. Definitely a great way to humanize your loved ones so as to not just be “another patient.” Let’s have a great week and start showing up to support each other. You aren’t just showing up for yourself. Aye!
