Today Mint Hill had 12 pax out for some early week exercise.  The forecast was not in favor for travel this morning, but the Q had a plan and wanted to stick to it.  The Q arrived early to set up for todays beatdown and when arriving at the park the gate was closed and stayed closed beyond our 5:30 a.m. start time. The pax being who they are and can modify on the fly, seen that the gate was closed and all made their way to the gravel lot just across the park.

The disclaimer was given along with some direction as to today’s festivities (all nodded or looked like they agreed) so off we went with a slow mosey with the last person running to the front and so on and so forth. We headed down and turned left on Quail Road and then down to the top of the hill for some warm up.

The Thang:

Everyone pick a partner for some hill assaults with exercises.  One pax would run down the hill to the bottom and perform 5 squats and then back to the top while the other performed said exercise until their return. The runner would be the timer and each pax performed each exercise before moving to the next exercise. The distance and the elevation seemed to grab the conversation early along with the fog (that could be cut with a knife).

Exercises: Merkins, Squats, LBC, Mountain Climbers and Plank Jacks.

Each team completed the list and we repeated the mosey back to the gravel lot and the flag.

Announcements – Mint Hill Christmas Morning Run will launch from the gravel lot at 6:00 a.m. Christmas Morning. Gremlin Sign Ups and Othello mentioned that help from pax will be needed at the Gremlin with early morning logistics.

Prayers: Change Order’s father has been diagnosed with Covid and we ask that you keep him in your prayers.

Great work today by all and the object was to get some work in to get everyone ready for the “Stairway to Heaven” that will be Q’d by your very own Big Tuna/Blue Crush/Motown and yours truly.
