Sweaty metal
All BackBlasts BackblastsJune 19th, 2020
What do you do when 7 dudes roll into a public park at 0530? Swing kettlebell and crack jokes, that’s what. If you were thinking of anything else, it’s not that kind of men’s group
Disclaimer given, we started in on sweat inducing warmups before heading into the main thing. Since I’m not a professional, or an expert in the material at hand, I advised all pax to modify as needed and be careful when picking up and setting down there bells.
- SSH x 20IC
- DEAD STOP SWINGS x 10 OYO
- WINDMILLS x 10 IC
- GRANDPA JACKS x 10IC
- DEAD STOP CLEAN DRILL
- DEAD STOP SNATCH DRILL
- IMPERIAL WALKERS
- HILLBILLIES
We carried our bells to the lower end of the lot to begin our main workload with these simple climbing instructions
- Walking lunges
- Dead stop swings
- Dead stop clean
- Dead stop snatch
- First, do all exercises at 2 reps, then 4, then 6
- Continue the increasing pattern of reps till each pax has traveled all the way to the top of the lot
Most pax were able to get to the top of the lot within 14 reps. After we all finished our climb we then let our backs rest a bit with a series of waiters carries up and down the lot til we finished up with a bit of Mary behind the trucks
- American hammer x 10 IC
- Lying pullovers x10ic
- Freddie mercury x20ic
And voila! We were finished. And drenched. The humidity made it’s heinous return in the June gloom today which is probably why so many of us hung around so long after. We were waiting for our shirts to dry in order to avoid wet seatbelts. But really, the conversations were full of humor and wisdom and generally free from shame or ridicule. This is why f3 works. Come out and see for yourself.
