The Lazarus Run…
All The Dawg House BackblastsJanuary 30th, 2020
This fine Thursday morning provided cool, but mild weather. It was perfect conditions for running, rucking, and walking. YHC rolled up to the Dawg House curious to see how many Dawgs were able to beat the fartsack and make it out in the gloom. YHC was running close to start time as usual. When the parking lot became visible, YHC could see that we might have a pretty good crowd out ready to put in some work. At first count is was 12 Dawgs, but wait… its not 5:30, so Pharaoh may still show. Yep, just like clock work, our fearless coach pulled in just in time for wheels up to make our group 13 Strong!
YHC knew that Uecker was likely disappointed that he missed the track work on Tuesday, so YHC really wanted to hit the track for him. In the end, YHC wanted to mix it up for the pax, so we headed out into the hood for a different type of speed work. The pax ran about 1.5 miles for a warm up that ended at the top of heart rate hill. YHC had the group partner up, while the Lazarus run was explained and off we went. Run around the block and turn around when you meet your partner. We knocked out some partner speed work for about 25 minutes that gathered to head back. The return route was 1.5 to 2 miles depending on which of the 2 options the pax selected as we headed back. The dawgs put in some strong work during the Lazarus. Thanks for playing along guys.
While all the running was going down, the ruckers/walkers were taking care of business around other parts of the hood. By all accounts it sounded like there was some deep emotional discussion by the group… all while Dr. Seuss was tracking their time via the moon (and his calves ???). Way to keep pushing guys.
It was awesome having such a large group. Keep pushing guys… one day at a time!
