Last Man Has To Fight The Buck (aka Uecker sees a deer)
All The Dawg House BackblastsNovember 19th, 2019
10 Runners + 1 Rucker moseyed out to the Dawg House for a Tuesday cruise. YHC thought it might be fun to get ready for the Santa Scramble with some relatively flat terrain running. ‘Relatively’ is a great term as it looked flatter on the map than it did running, plus I could have sworn there was more down hill.
Left at 5:30, a few swung back to pick up Mayhem, then we all gathered at the neighborhood track = streets of Wrangler and Amarillo.
- Starting line 1: Wrangler/Glen Haven intersection
- Run ~1/2 mile at faster-than-normal pace to Wrangler/Amarillo intersection, swing back to pick up the six.
- Mosey to starting line 2: 4118 Amarillo
- Run ~1/2 mile at faster-than-normal pace to Amarillo/Wrangler intersection, swing back to pick up the six.
- Mosey to starting line 1.
- Repeat the circuit.
- Mosey back to the school.
Somewhere along the circuit, Uecker claims he saw a deer who waited until everyone else had passed and then singled him out. We’ll have to check the STRAVA data to see if heart rate increased or pace picked up to verify said encounter. Supposedly it was a monster with antlers and everything. Beware Carolando walkers!
Torch showed up back at the school. His solo ruck was everything he dreamed of I’m sure.
Count off, names and COT
- Prayers for Turbine to recover fast from shoulder surgery
- Continued prayers for those dealing with back issues (Buck, Bullseye, Submarine)
- Happy Hour tonight at Armored Cow Brewing at 7pm
Sorry for going over on time today. Pharaoh said we should have run faster- true- but I was thinking we could have just run shorter. My watch showed over 6 miles so I think everyone got their money’s worth. Thanks for playing along.
