What the bell was that?

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

September 2nd, 2019 By Schnitzel

It was near perfect temps this morning, still a little humid as the fog on my glasses indicated, around 6:08.  With 4 brave PAX, not succumbing to the glamour of fartsacking on this last holiday of the summer, we embarked on the Labor Day gloom festivities.

Short and sweet, emphasis on I am not a professional.

Mosey

Ran around the HT lot, but I was reminded of running the lot lines that I recall @Pharoah introducing at RS and also a fan pleaser at the Dawg House.  Follow the leader through the lines with some laterals and quadraphelia as part of the mosey.  Not to forget some toy soldiers, high knees, butt kickers and karyoke to finish us off.

Warm a rama

The Thang

One might call this the extended turkish get up.  It took maybe 8 minutes, but we did only 5  get ups as we threw in some other things in between the get up, and the get down.  Start in normal get up position and go through the 4 steps until standing up tall with bell in the air, in the right hand.  Then do 5 KB swings, followed by 5 clean and press.  Then move the bell to the left hand and do 5 clean and press and 5 KB swings, ending with bell extended in left hand.  Then do the get down part of the get up.  Move bell to the right hand and repeat.

Run a lap.

Do the bell walk, passing KB between legs for the length of the CB lot.  Very annoying as YHC’s shorts kept getting in the way of grabbing the bell, leaving the impression that I was pulling my shorts down, with a KB in my hand.

Run a lap.

Begin Tabata series, but not to forget some reminiscing of the good old days of the middle school with characters like Jerry the cadence hater and the Chuck Norris alcove, where many a Chelsea was called by Law Dog… ah yes, only a short 6 years ago since starting my time here at the Stone.

Anyway, on with the Tabata, 90 seconds of the following:

Maybe 7 rounds of that, followed by 90 seconds of the following:

I lost track, but probably another 6-7 rounds completed.

Good work, fellas, appreciate you coming out.  Chachi, sorry about some of the antics this morning weren’t tendon friendly, heal up brother.  Any veterans remember @MattressKing, or was it @MattressFirm, was some dispute about that – going back to the early days of the Stone?  Hope you all had a good Labor Day and maybe the continuing of cooler and cooler temps (insert joke about @Soprano here…).

Aye!
