You Guys Look Better in the Dark

All The Dawg House Backblasts

May 1st, 2019 By Talladega

May 1- whether you call it May Day or International Workers’ Day or simply the first day of a new month, YHC calls it a great day to embrace the suck.  10 other manly men agreed and showed up for the challenge.  530a on the watch, disclaimer given, off to mosey through the parking lot.

Run some parking lot lines with a side shuffle, quadraphilia, high knees and butt kickers.  Circle up for the usual:

Mosey to the tennis courts, partner up

Mosey to the bleachers, partner up

Mosey to the tennis courts, partner up for B.L.I.M.P.S.

Line up on the side of tennis court 1

Mosey to the ticket booth for Mary

May is the month for FNGs and Kotters.  YHC threw a jab out to Bullseye on Slack and sure enough he showed up.  Not that new-baby-boy duty is over but he was able to make it back out which is a good first step.  There are other men out there who need that same ‘encouragement’ so look around and see who YOU will invite to come back to join us in the gloom.

Today’s backblast title is courtesy of Buck.  Amazing what you can see when DST has you finish on the other side of the sunrise.  No more hiding the ugly in the dark or the sweat puddles!

Speaking of Bullseye, his presence was heard as usual in his inability to keep his cheeks clinched during Mary.  That only serves as encouragement for Torch who is also none-too-afraid to ‘voice’ his opinion and share his inner thoughts as well.  Note to PAX: stand up wind.

Every backblast has the same comment but you can’t hide the truth- there’s just no quit in guys who work out in a group.  Yes there are different speeds and yes there are different strengths but today’s exercises were the typical YOU vs  YOU.  You pound out as many reps as possible while your partner does the timer exercise- you own it.  It is encouraging to see guys modify as necessary but never quit.  It is encouraging to see a guy try to catch another guy while running.  It is encouraging to see another guy pick up the 6 because no man is left behind.  It is encouraging to hear a man cheer another guy to the finish.  I’m talking to you guys who showed up today- Bunnion, Gurkha, Habs, Bullseye, Uecker, Wild Thing, Torch, Yellowcake, Buck, Mayflower.  You can walk around all SWOLE today because you earned it.

Peace out homeys!
