Greyhound Bird Run…

5 Greyhounds made it out in the cool gloom first the first Dawg House cruise of the week. As 5:30 came we had a slightly smaller pack than YHC had expected, but the dawgs that had showed were raring to go. As the pax headed up the hill to the leave the school, a car came rolling in on 2 wheels, which we assumed must be tardy Dawg. After a quick circle back to the lot, the pack had grown to 5 with the addition of Buck.
Off we went to the hood. YHC had arrived early and scouted all around the football stadium, so the pax could get in some speed work on the track. No luck, so YHC let the dawgs know it was their lucky day. The Bird Run was the back up plan and a no brainer once YHC learned that Amway and Buck were drawing the full bird for the first time. The Dawgs kept a brisk pace and knocked out 5 to 6 miles.
- Yellowcake put his head down and went to work as always. Looking faster every cruise. He also promised to throw the spear for me at the Spartan. #comebackkid
- Amway is proving that somehow rucking makes you a better runner. He ran his first full Bird Run and made it look easy… even had extra juice to push Hokie Pokie during jailbreak. #MaybeRuckerscanRun
- Buck rolled in on 2 wheels then straight out of his car right in stride. He mentioned that YHCs comments about the Spartan may have helped him beat the fartsack. Glad you made it out Buck. Great work. #SpartanReady
- Hokie Pokie was like a yo yo this morning. One minute he would be cruising with YHC making it look easy and the next he would be picking up the six and showing why he is a leader. Even had something left push Amway to the finish line. #Hecandoitall
