What’s a sugar cookie?

All All MECA Backblasts

June 6th, 2017 By Durden

Today’s Q was all about answering Mandown’s questions. Question one: Does Durden remember how to write a backblast? Yes, even though I have done two this month. Question two: What’s a sugar cookie? We’ll get to that.

10 men gathered for a wet, soupy, and muddy beat down. This boot camp showed that F3 men aren’t scared to get down and dirty to get strong.

First up, mosey around the parking lot to get the legs loose. Circle up for some light stretches.

Bend and reach x 5. Yes Mandown, you bend, then reach.

Air Squat x 5

Mosey down to the speed bump over by the tennis courts entrance. Lunges up to the last tree on the right. Mosey to the brick wall over by the pool.

Muscle ups x 25

Peoples Chair for one minute

Mosey to the playground for some pull ups. We didn’t have enough room for 10 guys, so 5 guys did dips, while the other 5 did 20 pull-ups.

Stumble over to the volleyball courts. We finally get to know what a sugar cookie is. The Precinct AO has gotten a lot of rain recently, so I took the opportunity for some sand fun. PAX on their six flutter kicks till I thought we had enough. Brutus played his respect card and stayed on the grass. I would too if I ran as much as him! Hold six inches. Up to Marge, back to Homer, to Marge, and Homer again. Flop over to your chest, and do 20 hand release murcans. Recover when done. Now the PAX looked like a bunch of sugar cookies.

Mosey around the parking lot, then do about 25 meters of duck walks.

Mosey back to the speed bump. Repeato on the lunges

Repeato on the muscle ups and peoples chair

back to the pull-up bars. Pull-ups/dips for those who didn’t do them last time.

Mosey to the cinder blocks. I intended to grab the tires for some fun, but I’ll save that workout for another Q. Grab all the cinder blocks and move the the grass area.

Lay all the bricks down for some simulated ammo carry exercises. On the command of “Go”, the PAX will bear crawl down to the hill, sprint back, grab as many cinder blocks as possible, and sprint back to the hill. This simulated carrying ammo cans from one spot to another in a quick manor. I just made this up last night, so I didn’t know what to expect from this. This is when I’m sure everyone got soaked and muddy, but we could handle it. Team 1 won, so team 2 had to take a lap.

Next team ammo exercise. get the PAX in a line for some cinder block relays. First person will run with their cinder blocks around the grass while the other PAX will conduct various cinder block exercises (Shoulder press, curls, tricep extenion). Do this till the last person gets back. Team 1 won again (maybe the teams were unfair?), Team 2 runs again.

10 cinder block burpees for everyone

put the blocks back

circle up in the tennis courts

Low flutter x 30

rosalita x 25

murican x 10

air squat x 19

run to the speed bump for the last round of lunges.

mosey to the flag.

Next exercise, remove the fallen tree. Starting position move, in cadence, exercise.

Move back to the flag to count off and close out a good workout.

I enjoyed it men! Way to push through the pain and tough terrain. Last minute Q so a lot of this wasn’t well planned out, but I thought it worked out alright. It was weird to Q a workout at a AO that I’ve never done a boot camp at, but it was a lot of fun. I’m glad I could test out my new ammo carry workouts, hope that it worked for you guys! Got to see some new faces today, and hopefully we can keep these numbers up! Good work today!

  1. Great job Durden! Now that you’ve Q’d a workout here, maybe you’ll start posting? It is after all your home AO. 😉
